Sr. Site Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Site Manager based in the United States.

This is a senior construction leadership role overseeing complex installation and site operations for large-scale material-handling projects.
You will lead subcontracted installation teams through construction, testing, commissioning, and project closeout activities.
The role combines responsibility for technical execution, schedules, budgets, site coordination, quality, safety, and contractual requirements.
You will work closely with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, customers, general contractors, and specialized trade partners.
Your leadership will be central to resolving field issues, maintaining project momentum, and ensuring work meets design, safety, and quality expectations.
The position offers significant autonomy and visibility across project sites, with responsibility for coordinating multidisciplinary mechanical, electrical, and structural work.
This is a full-time remote position requiring extensive travel, typically 80–90%, to active project locations throughout the United States.

Accountabilities

• Lead overall site management activities across technical, contractual, budget, schedule, safety, quality, and installation requirements.

• Manage subcontracted construction and installation teams throughout site mobilization, execution, commissioning, and demobilization.

• Plan pre-construction activities, including scheduling, estimating, staffing, constructability reviews, and project readiness.

• Coordinate issued-for-construction drawings, specifications, approvals, and technical documentation.

• Lead construction coordination activities, including pre-construction conferences, daily meetings, weekly and monthly progress meetings, and pull-planning sessions.

• Work with Procurement to develop scopes of work, evaluate bids, and align subcontractors and vendors with project requirements.

• Develop, review, and approve subcontractor and vendor schedules while monitoring progress against contractual baselines.

• Create site execution plans and coordinate commissioning activities.

• Manage the construction RFI process and facilitate timely resolution of technical questions.

• Support the development of project scope, schedule, and budget for installation, conversion, and demolition activities.

• Promote and maintain a strong HSE/EHS culture that meets project requirements and applicable OSHA standards.

• Review RFPs, coordinate pre-construction activities, and align trade partners on work-specific responsibilities.

• Monitor mechanical, electrical, commissioning, and related construction activities against approved drawings and schedules.

• Review, validate, and mitigate subcontractor and vendor change orders.

• Ensure project deliverables are established, executed, documented, and formally closed.

• Lead site teams through all phases of construction while maintaining alignment with project objectives.

• Coordinate as-built documentation between field and engineering teams.

• Serve as the interface between Engineering and Construction Operations to resolve multidisciplinary technical issues.

• Lead quality-control activities throughout project execution.

• Oversee self-performed installation activities involving mechanical, electrical, and steel-erection scopes when applicable.

• Maintain and deliver required project reporting and site documentation.

• Identify issues proactively, coordinate appropriate stakeholders, and drive timely solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• 7+ years of construction management experience, preferably within the parcel material-handling sector; experience supporting major logistics or parcel carriers is advantageous.

• Demonstrated experience overseeing mechanical and electrical subcontractors within operational industrial facilities, including renovations and build-outs of existing structures.

• OSHA 30-hour safety certification.

• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering schematics, design prints, and mechanical, electrical, and steel installation drawings.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction-related tools such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, or comparable software.

• Proven knowledge of construction scheduling, resource planning, material delivery coordination, and project execution.

• Experience developing specifications and subcontract agreements.

• Strong meeting leadership and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, contractors, project teams, and senior management.

• Demonstrated business development experience is a plus.

• Ability to assess and adjust workforce and material-resource requirements based on project needs.

• Excellent delegation, organization, and time-management skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Diplomatic and collaborative approach when working with onsite teams, project managers, customers, contractors, and other stakeholders.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage competing priorities in high-pressure project environments.

• Ability to recognize and manage workplace stress effectively while maintaining a professional, solutions-oriented approach.

• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 80–90% of the time.

• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including occasional lifting of materials up to approximately 50 pounds and bending or kneeling to inspect materials, pallets, or documentation.

Benefits

• Annual base salary range of $131,400–$146,000.

• Eligibility to participate in an annual performance bonus program.
