Role Summary

The Sr Director, Central Fill & Mail Order will build, launch, and lead the central-fill and mail-order pharmacy capability for Specialty Pharmacy Services — a new, largely 340B-enabled operating model designed to support continued growth and scale.

This leader will own the end-to-end operating model, from design and implementation through ongoing operations, and will bring deep pharmacy expertise to ensure the capability is scalable, efficient, compliant, and positioned to optimize eligible 340B capture. The Sr Director will also provide senior pharmacy operations leadership as the specialty pharmacy footprint scales from approximately 60 to 175 locations.

Key Responsibilities

Central Fill & Mail Order

• Own the strategy, design, build, launch, and scale of the central-fill and mail-order pharmacy capability.
• Design the end-to-end operating model, including dispensing and fulfillment workflows, staffing, inventory, shipping, quality controls, patient service, and performance management.
• Build a scalable operation capable of supporting significant growth in pharmacy locations, prescription volume, customers, and geographic reach.
• Establish operating standards, KPIs, capacity models, and continuous improvement processes to drive quality, efficiency, and service.

Specialty Pharmacy Operations & Scale

• Provide senior pharmacy operations leadership supporting the growth of the specialty pharmacy footprint from approximately 60 to 175 locations.
• Develop standardized, repeatable pharmacy processes that enable growth while maintaining quality, compliance, and patient service.
• Identify operational risks, capacity constraints, and process gaps and develop scalable solutions to address them.

340B, Compliance & Quality

• Design central-fill and mail-order workflows to optimize eligible 340B capture while maintaining strong program integrity and compliance.
• Ensure operations meet applicable federal and state pharmacy laws, Board of Pharmacy requirements, licensure standards, 340B requirements, and organizational policies.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, Quality, and pharmacy leadership on multi-state regulatory requirements, licensing, audits, and operational controls.

Technology, Automation & Partnership

• Partner with pharmacy systems and automation leadership to define and operationalize the technology capabilities required for central fill and mail order.
• Leverage automation, data, and technology to improve dispensing accuracy, productivity, capacity, inventory management, and patient service.
• Partner closely with 340B optimization, Finance, Product, Technology, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure the model delivers both operational and financial objectives.

What Success Looks Like (first 12–24 months)

• Central-fill and mail-order capability successfully designed, launched, and positioned to scale.
• A repeatable operating model established with strong quality, compliance, service, and performance standards.
• Central fill effectively supporting the specialty pharmacy growth strategy and 60 → 175 location expansion.
• 340B opportunities appropriately incorporated into the operating model, with strong program integrity and measurable financial impact.
• Technology and automation successfully integrated into pharmacy workflows to improve capacity, consistency, and efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

• PharmD or equivalent pharmacy degree with active pharmacist licensure; ability to obtain additional licensure as required.
• 10+ years of progressive pharmacy operations experience, including significant leadership responsibility in large-scale or multi-site operations.
• Proven experience building, launching, or significantly scaling a high-volume central-fill and/or mail-order pharmacy operation.
• Experience within national retail, specialty, mail-order, e-commerce, health-system, or similarly complex pharmacy operations.
• Strong 340B specialty pharmacy operations experience and understanding of program compliance and economics.
• Deep end-to-end pharmacy expertise across process, systems, automation, fulfillment, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience operating across multiple states and navigating Board of Pharmacy and pharmacy licensure requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to build new capabilities, lead through significant growth, and translate strategy into operational execution.

Base Compensation: $157,731.00 to $275,000.00
