The National Education Opportunity Network (NEON) is a rapidly scaling education justice non-profit that seeks to propel economic mobility by democratizing access to higher education. We deliver and support actual college credit-bearing courses from our nation’s top universities (Howard, Stanford, Wharton, Spelman, Brown, Wesleyan, Dartmouth, and more) into teacher-led high school classrooms in low-income, Title 1 high schools - at no cost to students. Since our inception in 2019, we have reached nearly 60,000 scholars from 160 districts in 34 states and are on track to serve 1 million scholars within the next decade.

THE ROLE

The (Sr.) Associate, Student Affairs will play a critical role in shaping and executing the strategic expansion of our student opportunities and scholar engagement initiatives. This role will ensure that our student-facing programs align with the diverse needs of scholars across the country while driving community building and leadership development. This position will also manage critical student operations and logistics for the team.

Though the role responsibilities will shift to meet the needs of our growing organization, your skills and expertise will be leveraged to:

• Drive Scholar Engagement: Manage key student opportunities and scholar engagement activities, including the NEON Alumni Board, Student Advisory Board, and scholarship program nominations.

• Support College Access Initiatives: Partner with the Director of College Access to support the College Access Mentors initiative in SY26-27. This includes managing TF Mentors, supporting the development of content and resources for the College Knowledge course, monitoring program implementation, and evaluating key success metrics.

• Coordinate Milestone Programs: Assist with the logistical coordination of the Carnegie Merit Scholars Program, virtual and in-person admissions events, and Honor Society operations.

• Provide Transcript Support: Provide students with transcript access support upon course completion.

• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work collaboratively with our Communications team to highlight student opportunities and success stories.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of professional experience required, with a strong preference for a background in student affairs, student development, or student-facing program management.

• Skills & Competencies:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing program logistics and utilizing data/student feedback to monitor implementation and evaluate success metrics.
    Excellent organizational skills, adept at managing multiple tasks, student cohorts, and operational priorities.  
    Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for building community, fostering student engagement, and supporting diverse student populations.
    Comfortable proactively identifying solutions and suggesting strategic program improvements.
    Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
    Experience with posting and analytics tracking on social media platforms, primarily Instagram and LinkedIn, is preferred.
    Experience with Salesforce and/or Canvas is preferred.

THE SALARY

The (Sr.) Associate, Student Affairs role offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $55,000 to $70,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications. New hires typically start between the range minimum and midpoint. A comprehensive benefits package is also available, including medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) with 4% match (fully vested); professional development support; remote work stipends and equipment; coworking space access; and paid sick leave with flexible vacation.

THE TEAM

The (Sr.) Associate, Student Affairs will join a fast-paced team committed to providing opportunities for students who have historically and systemically been left out of opportunities. This position will report to the Director of College Access. Our organization is 100% remote, with team gatherings throughout the year, and opportunities to travel. Applicants do not need to live in the state of New York.
