Job Description
Long Island Speech is seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and organized part-time paid interns to join our Stony Brook office. This is an excellent opportunity for students and individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in a professional healthcare environment while developing valuable administrative, communication, organizational, and workplace skills.
Our interns work alongside multiple departments and gain exposure to the day-to-day operations of a busy speech therapy practice. We offer a supportive team environment, flexible scheduling, and opportunities to learn and grow within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily office operations, including sorting and distributing mail, filing, scanning, copying, and shredding documents.
- Support the marketing team with promotional initiatives, materials, and research for upcoming events.
- Assist the billing department with medical postings, data entry, and other administrative tasks.
- Provide general administrative support to various departments as needed.
- Help ensure the office remains organized, efficient, and welcoming for patients, families, and staff.
- Take on additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
We are looking for individuals who are:

Compensation: $17 per hour

Janine Stiene, Speech-Language Pathologist,is owner and operator of Long Island Speech and Myofunctional Therapy.
Along with her exceptional group of therapists, she supports families and children across Long Island and Queens, specializing in: PROMPT, Myofunctional Therapy, Voice Disorders, Fluency, Augmentative Communications, Articulation, Auditory Processing Disorders and Expressive/Receptive Language Disorders (adults and children). Also offered is Feeding Therapy for individuals who suffer from texture and consistency aversions.
There are 9 affiliated offices across Long Island, all participating with most major health insurance companies and offering flexible hours and scheduling; including evenings and Saturdays.
