We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our OB/GYN specialty team at our Ankeny clinic! This is a great opportunity for nurses who are passionate about women’s health and patient-centered care. Whether you bring prior OB/GYN experience or are looking to grow your knowledge in this specialty, we welcome your application.

In this role, you will assess and triage patient needs, coordinate care, provide education, and support patients throughout their gynecologic and obstetric care. You’ll work closely with experienced providers and a collaborative clinical team to ensure patients receive timely, personalized care.

Responsibilities

• Assess incoming patient calls and messages to determine symptom urgency and appropriate next steps.
• Provide telephone triage and guide patients to the appropriate level of care, testing, or follow-up.
• Coordinate appointments, testing, treatments, and follow-up care for patients with a variety of OB/GYN needs.
• Communicate closely with providers and the clinical team to ensure timely, coordinated patient care.
• Provide patient education related to gynecologic conditions, treatments, medications, procedures, pregnancy, and ongoing care.
• Support patients and families by answering questions, providing resources, and helping them understand their care plan.
• Assist providers with clinical procedures and other patient care needs within the specialty clinic.
• Accurately document patient assessments, communications, interventions, and care plans in the electronic health record.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) – Active/Unencumbered RN license in state of practice or compact license including state of practice.

• All levels of RN experience will be considered. Prior experience in ob/gyn or specialty care is a plus, but not required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• For positions within UnityPoint Clinic, team members may be required to work at or to float to other locations to support optimized staffing
