Special Olympics Swim Team Coach Wanted!
Do you have a background in competitive swimming? Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities of all ages? We’re looking for a Co-Head Coach to join our Special Olympics Swim Team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Introduce new swimmers to the team environment
- Develop foundational swim skills
- Support seasoned athletes in refining their competitive techniques
SCHEDULE:
- Weekly practices from September to June
- Wednesdays, 6:00–8:00 PM
- Additional Opportunity: Interested in more hours? You can also work in our Adaptive Aquatics Program, offering one-on-one swim lessons to individuals of all ages with disabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent general education degree, required.
- Previous experience working with individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities, preferred.
- Knowledge of specified program content and ability to effectively give instruction to others and make modifications based on abilities of each participant.
- Willingness to attend meetings, training, and obtain additional certification as requested.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including leading classes, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting. Individuals in this job may be subject to loud facilities and elements of weather.
