South Bend Kroc Center - Property Technician

Part-Time Maintenance Technician | $20–$22 per Hour

Help keep a community space safe, welcoming, and ready for the people who use it every day. The Salvation Army is hiring a part-time Property Technician to maintain our buildings, grounds, equipment, and vehicles. If you enjoy hands-on work and can handle a variety of repairs, we’d like to hear from you.

Pay: $20–$22 per hour
Schedule: Part-time: 29hrs per week: Monday through Thursday 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Friday 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

What you’ll do

• Complete minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
• Inspect facilities, perform preventive maintenance, and document completed work.
• Maintain grounds, including mowing, trimming, snow and ice removal, and cleanup.
• Check organization vehicles and arrange service or repairs when needed.
• Help move furniture and set up spaces for programs.
• Report safety concerns and care for maintenance equipment.

What you’ll bring

• Basic knowledge of building and vehicle maintenance, including plumbing and heating and cooling systems.
• The ability to prioritize work, solve problems, and complete tasks reliably.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance records and reports.
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet The Salvation Army’s driver qualification standards.
• The ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and perform work that may involve standing, walking, bending, or squatting, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.

A background check is required, and Safe From Harm training must be completed within the first 30 days of employment. Some travel may be required.
