Responsibilities:

Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service and quality food preparation

Supervise, train, and develop kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to food safety, sanitation, and quality standards

Collaborate with the Executive Chef in creating and developing new menu items, incorporating seasonal ingredients and local products

Assist with managing inventory, including ordering, receiving, and rotating stock to ensure freshness and minimize waste

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and surrounding areas, ensuring all food preparation areas meet the highest standards of hygiene

Troubleshoot any culinary issues that arise during service, ensuring quick resolutions while maintaining quality and consistency

Work closely with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth communication and guest satisfaction during service

Help manage kitchen staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours and maintain effective workflow

Adhere to all health, safety, and food quality regulations in the kitchen

Qualifications: What We’re Looking For

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a senior kitchen role in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant

Strong knowledge of American and seasonal cuisine, particularly in a wood-fired kitchen environment

Proven ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team

Familiarity with kitchen management, inventory control, and product ordering

Experience in a fine dining or upscale casual restaurant setting is a plus

Skills and Qualities:

Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both front and back-of-house teams

Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously

A passion for food, particularly in a seasonal, ingredient-driven kitchen

Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and consistency

A positive, approachable attitude with a natural ability to lead and inspire others

A professional demeanor and appearance is required, with the ability to uphold Savoy’s high culinary standards
