Solutions Architect Senior Principal

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Solutions Architect Senior Principal based in the United States.

This senior architecture role supports a large-scale enterprise Zero Trust program serving a U.S. government customer.
You will shape technology strategies, enterprise architectures, and modernization roadmaps across complex mission environments.
The position combines systems architecture, cybersecurity, cloud modernization, enterprise modeling, and digital engineering.
You will work directly with stakeholders to translate mission requirements into scalable and extensible technical solutions.
The role provides significant influence over architecture frameworks, models, platforms, and technology standards.
You will operate in a fast-paced environment where technical rigor, customer partnership, and mission impact are central to success.
This fully remote opportunity is designed for an experienced architect who can lead complex technical initiatives while navigating government and enterprise requirements.

Accountabilities:

• Analyze existing infrastructure and service offerings and recommend improvements supporting network modernization, application refactoring, cybersecurity, and cloud migration.

• Partner with customers and stakeholders to develop IT strategies aligned with current and emerging mission requirements, skills, and technologies.

• Shape enterprise architecture strategies and long-term technology roadmaps for complex government environments.

• Assess and apply relevant architecture frameworks, including DoDAF, UAF, and TOGAF, ensuring use cases and solutions align with established standards.

• Develop current-state (“as-is”) and future-state (“to-be”) architectures and solutions with an emphasis on scalability, extensibility, and long-term sustainability.

• Support enterprise Agile and SAFe activities and contribute to effective architecture execution across program teams.

• Lead enterprise architecture model development and curation using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and UAF standards.

• Define digital platform architecture frameworks, design methodologies, standards, and best practices for use by architecture teams.

• Implement and maintain platforms within automated configuration-management frameworks.

• Apply advanced information-security expertise to architecture decisions and enterprise solutions.

• Own the architecture of data frameworks required to collect, manage, and provide program performance metrics.

• Analyze system operations and decompose complex systems using OMG-based frameworks, including UML, DoDAF 2.0/UPDM, SysML, and UAF.

• Model systems across capability, operational, system, and functional perspectives and at multiple levels of abstraction.

• Engage stakeholders across diverse technical and mission domains to analyze requirements, processes, systems, and capabilities.

• Extend UML-based models into other tools and modeling environments through established frameworks and APIs.

• Work with executable models and contribute to generating data, reports, and architecture deliverables.

• Present technical concepts and recommendations clearly while maintaining strong customer-service relationships with customers and colleagues.

• Balance multiple priorities, manage time effectively, and maintain attention to detail in a high-quality, time-sensitive environment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

• 10+ years of relevant professional experience in enterprise architecture, technical solutions, systems architecture, or a related discipline.

• Current Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship required.

• Ability to obtain and maintain ITIL 4 Foundation certification.

• One of the following security or DoD 8140-aligned certifications is required: CISSP, Security+ CE, CASP+, CCSP, Cloud+, CSSLP, or another qualifying certification.

• Strong expertise in enterprise architecture, complex systems, architecture frameworks, and technical solution design.

• Hands-on knowledge of UML modeling and systems decomposition using frameworks such as DoDAF 2.0/UPDM, SysML, and UAF.

• Familiarity with UML modeling tools; experience with Cameo Enterprise Architect is preferred.

• Understanding of executable models, with familiarity with the fUML specification preferred.

• Ability to model complex systems from multiple perspectives and at different levels of abstraction.

• Experience extending UML-based models to other modeling environments through frameworks or APIs.

• Strong understanding of information security, enterprise systems, cloud technologies, and infrastructure modernization.

• Experience generating technical data, reports, architecture artifacts, and other program deliverables.

• Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders across different technical and mission domains.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, combined with strong customer-service and presentation abilities.

• Ability to multitask, prioritize commitments, manage deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail.

• Experience modeling complex systems for Department of War or other government organizations is preferred.

• Experience publishing architecture models to web-based or document-based formats is desirable.

• Additional certifications such as Crestron Certified Programmer, Certified User Experience Designer, or Python certification (PCAP or similar) are desirable.

• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 10–25%.
