About the role

The Solution Principal Sr is a senior, client-facing technical role within Insight’s Infrastructure Services organization. This individual is responsible for leading solution design, supporting pre-sales engagements, and partnering with sales and delivery teams to develop and position infrastructure solutions that meet client needs. 

This role plays a critical part in advancing sales opportunities, ensuring technical alignment, and driving successful outcomes from initial engagement through delivery. 

Responsibilities include:

• Lead technical solution design across infrastructure domains including cloud, data center, storage, and resiliency 
• Partner with sales teams to scope, qualify, and advance opportunities through the pre-sales lifecycle 
• Engage directly with clients to understand business and technical requirements through workshops, discovery, and solution discussions 
• Translate client needs into scalable, deliverable solutions aligned to Insight capabilities 
• Support development of Statements of Work (SOWs), including scope definition and solution validation 
• Ensure alignment between pre-sales solutioning and delivery execution to reduce risk and improve customer outcomes 
• Collaborate cross-functionally with architecture, engineering, and delivery teams to drive consistent and high-quality solutions 
• Participate in pipeline management activities and opportunity reviews to support deal progression
• Contribute to internal process improvements related to solution consistency, pricing alignment, and delivery expectations 

What you’ll need:

• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, consulting, or solution design 
• Strong expertise in one or more of the following: cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), data center, storage, virtualization, or disaster recovery 
• Proven experience supporting pre-sales engagements and working closely with sales teams 
• Experience developing technical solutions and supporting SOW creation 
• Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills 
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-aligned solutions 
• Broad understanding of hybrid infrastructure and modernization strategies 
• Experience working in a services or consulting organization 
• Familiarity with large, enterprise-level opportunities and multi-stakeholder environments 
• Strong collaboration skills across sales, delivery, and technical teams 
• Client engagement and consultative selling 
• Technical leadership and solution ownership 
• Cross-functional collaboration 
• Strategic thinking and problem solving 
• Communication and stakeholder alignment
