Software Engineer

We’re looking for a Software Engineer who combines strong technical skills with excellent communication and a genuine interest in working with customers. You’ll help turn customer needs into clear requirements, make thoughtful technical decisions, and deliver software that is reliable, maintainable, and easy to use.

We want someone who takes ownership from the first conversation through implementation and customer feedback, and who knows how to use AI effectively to improve both the quality and efficiency of their work.

This is a remote position but you must live and be a full time resident in one of the following states:  PA, NJ, DE, OH, or FL.

In this role, you will:

• Partner directly with customers and internal teams to understand problems, explore solutions, and define requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Translate business needs into practical technical approaches, explaining options, tradeoffs, and limitations in clear language.
• Design, implement, test, and maintain software with attention to correctness, usability, security, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with QA and product teams to identify edge cases, resolve ambiguity, and build quality into development from the start.
• Communicate progress, risks, and changes in scope early, keeping stakeholders informed and expectations aligned.
• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and document decisions that help others understand and maintain the system.
• Use AI for design exploration, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation, providing relevant context and critically evaluating the results.
• Own changes through release and follow-up, investigating issues and using customer feedback to improve the product.

You’ll bring:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and respectfully.
• The ability and desire to work directly with customers and colleagues to uncover needs, ask clarifying questions, and turn ambiguity into actionable requirements.
• Proficiency in a modern programming language and experience building and maintaining applications.
• A strong commitment to quality, demonstrated through thoughtful design, appropriate testing, code review, and attention to the customer experience.
• Sound problem-solving skills and the ability to balance immediate needs with long-term maintainability.
• Practical experience getting useful results from AI tools, including breaking down problems, supplying context, iterating, and independently verifying generated work.
• Accountability for the software you deliver, including code developed with AI assistance, and good judgment when handling customer and company information.
