Social Worker/Community Liaison

We're currently hiring for a social worker/community liaison who can assist us with supporting our clients through case management, community engagement, and resource development. This is a hybrid position that allows for flexible working hours.

About Lotus-Like Psychotherapy & Wellness Center

Lotus-Like Psychotherapy & Wellness Center is a social justice-oriented private practice with three locations in the Fresno area — Fig Garden, Downtown Fresno, and our newest clinic in Clovis.

Compassion and community are at the heart of everything we do. From a non-denominational, holistic framework, we go beyond traditional therapy to serve our clients and the broader community through free yoga and sound bath classes, an internal food pantry, and free workshops and groups on parenting, mindfulness, healthy relationships, and life transitions.

We believe the community needs more than therapists — we actively seek creative ways to foster lasting change in the lives of our clients. This philosophy extends to supporting new clinicians in developing their approach, skills, and confidence to better serve the community.

We provide services to individuals ages 5–99 and couples. Our practice is affirming to LGBTQ+ individuals, people in non-traditional relationships, and marginalized communities. Common presenting concerns include trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, grief and loss, depression, and anxiety. We do not provide intensive outpatient or crisis services, and clinicians are not expected to be on-call or available outside of scheduled hours. Our client base is primarily low-to-moderate acuity.

Many staff members hold additional roles in the community — as professors, small business owners, yoga instructors, crisis workers, and clinicians at universities and other organizations. We seek team-oriented, empathetic, and professional clinicians who are passionate about serving clients with mild-to-moderate presentations, particularly from marginalized communities.

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate has completed or is in the process of completing a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or in a related field such as psychology or sociology — who is comfortable working independently, values flexibility, and wants to contribute their unique skills and interests to our community mission.

Prior experience with community work, assisting clients with paperwork and locating resources are a plus and will be considered in lieu of a degree and formal education. Candidates must have confidence and be able to work independently on varying tasks and projects. Accurate, coherent, and timely documentation is expected.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Case management, including coordination of client care and referrals across internal and external service providers
• Assisting clients with navigating the process of signing up for public benefits such as CalFresh, etc.
• Serving as a community liaison, building and maintaining relationships with community organizations, agencies, and resources on behalf of the practice.
• Supporting special projects as assigned by the clinical director or practice leadership
• Event coordination, including planning and logistics for practice-sponsored community or clinical events
• Creation of promotional materials for monthly groups and community events
• General planning and leadership related to program development and outreach initiatives
• Maintaining and regularly updating an internal resource directory of community services, agencies, and referral sources for client use
• Maintaining and coordinating the practice's client food pantry, including inventory, stocking, and distribution to clients as needed at all local offices
• Promoting the practice and services through the posting and delivery of promotional materials to preselected destinations in the Fresno/Clovis area
• Attending and tabling at community events to promote the practice and our services - availability to attend infrequent weekend events

The employee must maintain a log of activities performed under this role for any and all hours under this role.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field
• Skilled in computer operations, data entry, spreadsheet maintenance, and drafting professional communications
• Experience engaging with community resources, and clients
• Knowledge of community resources
• Time management skills
• Ability to develop and implement campaigns & projects
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and accountability skills
• Experience working with diverse and marginalized populations
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency with accessing electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Bilingual in English/Spanish, Hmong, Hindi, or Arabic — a plus

Compensation

Pay ranges from $20-25/hour DOE.

Sick leave accrues at one hour per 30 hours worked, including PTO after a probational period and unlimited unpaid time off.

Interview Process

Qualified applicants will be invited to a 10–15 minute video screening. Those who advance will be scheduled for a 60-minute follow-up interview.
