Entry Level Social Media Lead

Knowt is a study app that around 8 million high schoolers use to get through AP classes, the SAT and ACT, finals, and college apps. You'll be the lead behind Knowt's high school social presence, owning our TikTok and Instagram (@getknowt) end to end and turning them into a channel students actually find fun, relatable, and useful. You'll be a voice to the millions of students who already follow and see Knowt's daily posts.

We're looking for someone who deeply understands the daily reality of high school, AP courses, test prep, finals week, application season, and has a sharp instinct for what goes viral in that world. You'll turn that instinct into daily content that drives views, engagement, and website subscriptions.

The basics

• Part-time or full-time depending on your availability. Minimum commitment is 10–15 hours/week.

• Fully remote.

• Base pay plus performance rewards tied to account growth.

• You'll work directly with our marketing team, reporting to our Student Marketing Manager.

• You'll be posting to an established account from day one, 476K followers, backed by a platform 8 million students use. You're not building from zero.

What You'll Do

Content Creation

• Own the @getknowt TikTok and Instagram accounts day to day, posting daily for a high school audience.

• Take content from idea to publish: hooks, scripts, filming, editing, and captions.

• Speak directly to what high schoolers are dealing with, AP exams, the SAT and ACT, studying, test stress and make it feel relatable.

• Turn Knowt's product into content students actually want to watch and use.

• Make sure every post feels native to the platform and to high school culture.

Growth & Iteration

• Constantly test hooks, formats, storytelling angles, and CTAs to find repeatable winning formulas.

• Tie content to the high school calendar to catch students exactly when they need Knowt.

• Turn platform trends, audience behavior, and performance data into new content concepts.

• Iterate daily based on what the numbers show.

Performance & Reporting

• Track and report on content performance with clear recommendations for what to scale, improve, or stop.

• Measure success across views, watch time, interactions (saves, shares, comments), and signups.

What We're Looking For

You need

• A real feel for what goes viral on TikTok and Instagram, and why.

• Firsthand understanding of high school, AP classes, the SAT and ACT, and the pressure that comes with all of it.

• Comfort taking a video from idea to posted.

• A data-driven approach. Decisions off view and conversion metrics, not vibes.

Nice to have

• Experience creating and growing short-form content, especially for edtech or exam-prep audiences.

• Comfort on camera, or experience scripting for creators.

• You've sat for AP exams, the SAT, or the ACT yourself.
