POSITION SUMMARY

Steamboat SnowSports School is looking for both certified and non-certified Alpine SnowSports School Ski instructors for the 2026-27 winter season.  If you want to give world-class guest service on our Champagne Powder® snow, please apply today! ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Teaching skiing to students of all ages, children and adults, with the safety and welfare of the students being of primary importance

• Safe pick up of students and drop off at the end of the lesson

• Safekeeping and return of proper equipment with children at the end of the lesson

• Completion of daily student attendance sheet

• Attendance at designated meeting times on scheduled workdays

• Must be able to access daily schedules and other department and company notices electronically

• Required attendance and completion of HR Training and Orientation, plus all required SnowSports School training

• Knowledge of all posted information and what is contained in the instructor department manual

• Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

• Complete incident reports in accordance with departmental and company manuals

• Performance of various activities as required by SnowSports School and/or SSRC management

• Care and safekeeping of company-owned uniform

• Provide guests with general company information

• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Must provide a safe and fun learning environment for children and adults

• Previous instruction, teaching or coaching experience of any sport preferred

• Adhere to all safety policies

• Must maintain a neat appearance in conformance with department and company standards

• Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers, and management consistent with SSRC Service Excellence standards

• Employment for this job is contingent upon the successful completion of background check and reference checks

• Position requires working weekends, holidays, and required days as needed and scheduled

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

• 5-day new hire training clinic hosted by SnowSports School is REQUIRED

• Ongoing in-house training (as required)

• Teaching experience preferred

• Bilingual applicants welcomed

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

Steamboat SnowSports School area base hourly pay range: $18.50 - $19.00 per hour

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be a minimum 18 years of age.

• Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions while wearing ski and snowboard gear, including, boots, helmet, goggles, ski/snowboards, etc.  May include working outdoors for consecutive days.

• Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds, may include wiggly or squirmy students in motion.

• Be able to assist in lifting students to an upright position from the ground.

• Clearly communicate verbally in the English language.
