The Shop/Yard Assistant is responsible for cleaning, organizing, and maintaining heavy equipment in the shop and yard. They also assist with shipping, receiving, and supporting technicians with various operational tasks.

Qualifications: Job Description
Cleaning and organizing the shop and yard
Taking rental pictures of incoming and outgoing equipment and checking for damages as equipment arrives
Taking website photos of equipment
Uploading of rental paperwork and equipment photos
Pressure washing heavy equipment
Cleaning rental units inside and out
Loading and unloading trucks
Pulling orders and Shipping helper as needed
Driving to pick-up and deliver parts and supplies as needed
Prepping sold and rental equipment as needed
Adding and removing attachments to machines as needed
Assisting technicians as needed
Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
• Experience working in a shop environment or outdoors preferred
• High School diploma or GED
Required Abilities
Good communication skills
Good, safe work habits
Clean driving record and valid driver's license
Good computer skills

Company Wrench began as a measure of vertical integration by Owner, Brad Hutchinson. He created a truck repair company to service his main construction company. The name Company Wrench came to Hutchinson from a conversation w/ a stranded truck operator where he told the client that he would send over his “company wrench” which refers to an on-staff mechanic. “That’s really where the company was born,” Hutchinson said. “We started out doing heavy truck repairs and small equipment repair.”
In 2001, Company Wrench shifted its focus from commercial truck repair to heavy equipment. By 2013, the business was solely focused on the rental, creation, and sale of specialized heavy equipment & general construction equipment. In 2010, Company Wrench established C.W. Machine Worx, their manufacturing division.
CW is a big supporter of United Way, and created a program called Recycle Cycles to repair used bicycles & distribute them to the homeless & others through United Way. CW also hosts a yearly community event called Operator for a Day where anyone in the community could try their hand at operating heavy equipment. “We hosted about 1,500 people in two days. Seeing a 3-year-old run a bulldozer was a hoot, the same with senior citizens. Many had never been on a machine before and they were having a ball,” Hutchinson said.
