Internship Overview
As a Shop Technician Intern at Summit Agricultural Group, you will gain knowledge and work experience in a large-scale farming operation, with specific responsibilities pertaining to preventative maintenance and service needs. The position will be based at our Alden, Iowa headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Assist in performing maintenance and repairs on Summit equipment. This may include but not limited to the following:
- On-road passenger vehicles and tractors
- Tire repairs and replacement
- Detailing
- Oil Changes
- On-road passenger vehicles and tractors
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair various mechanical issues.
- Various metal fabrication duties with preferred welding experience.
- Assist with special projects and minor construction.
- Opportunities to cross train in other operational departments.
- Ability to operate equipment such as but not limited to tractors, grain carts, skid loaders, forklift and field cultivators, as needed.
- Deliver final presentation to Summit's management team.
Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial environment.
- High level of interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Motivated self-starter with ability to work independently.
