Job Details: Job Location: 13920 S. MERIDIAN - OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, Salary Range: Undisclosed, General Description: Shipping and Receiving Clerks are the first and last point of contact for a company's products. They are responsible for meticulously managing the flow of all goods coming into and leaving a facility. This includes everything from inspecting incoming shipments to ensuring that all outgoing packages are prepared and documented correctly. A key part of the job is maintaining precise records of all transactions to prevent errors, track inventory, and ensure that every order is fulfilled accurately. They prepare items for shipping by carefully packing them in appropriate containers, creating mailing labels, and preparing all necessary shipping documents.

Safety and Workspace Management: Adhere to all safety rules and regulations to maintain a secure working environment. This includes keeping the work area clean, organized, and free of potential hazards at all times.
Receiving and Documentation: When shipments arrive, meticulously verify the quantity, part numbers, and customer information against the packing slip. After verifying, carefully unbox the items, add part numbers to the packaging, and log the details into the official receiving logbook.
Material Handling and Organization: Tag each part with the correct identifying information and photograph it for a visual record. Store the received parts in their designated shelving locations and forward the accompanying paperwork to the planning department for processing.
Shipping Preparation: When an item is ready to ship, prepare it for transport by carefully boxing, crating, or palletizing it. This involves using appropriate packing materials like bubble wrap, foam, and oil to protect the parts during transit.
Shipping Documentation: Complete a Bill of Lading (BOL) for every outgoing shipment. A BOL is a legally binding document that details the type, quantity, and destination of the goods being shipped. One copy is provided to the truck driver, and a second copy is securely attached to the box or crate itself.
Segregation of Parts: Maintain a strict separation between aerospace and industrial parts to prevent mix-ups and ensure compliance with industry-specific standards.
Equipment Operation: Regularly use heavy lifting equipment, such as forklifts and hoists, to safely move heavy parts and materials.
Part Cleaning and Preparation: Utilize various hand and power tools, including die grinders and hand grinders, to clean and prepare parts as required before they are shipped.
Tool Operation: Operate common carpentry and packaging tools, such as circular saws and jigsaws, for tasks like building custom crates.

Competencies:

Basic Computer Skills: The ability to use standard software, such as spreadsheet applications and internal inventory management systems, is crucial for data entry and record-keeping.
Tool Knowledge: A practical understanding of how to safely and effectively use a variety of hand and power tools is essential for packaging and cleaning tasks.
Written and Verbal Communication Skills: The ability to communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, and truck drivers is necessary. Additionally, accurately and legibly filling out shipping documents is a key part of the role.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail is critical for verifying part numbers, quantities, and customer information to prevent costly shipping errors and inventory discrepancies.

Technical Training Required:

Job Traveler System: How to accurately read and fill out a Job Traveler, a document that tracks a part's journey through the production process.
Data Entry: Training on how to properly input data from the Job Traveler into the Envision system or a similar inventory management software.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Correct use and wear of all required PPE, including safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and dust masks.
Lifting Equipment: Safe operation of lifting equipment like forklifts and hoists. This may require specific certification or training.
Proper Packaging: Techniques and best practices for properly packaging parts to ensure they are not damaged during shipping.
Tool Safety: Safe and effective use of various tools, including die grinders, hand grinders, nail guns, circular saws, and jigsaws.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

This job takes place in a medium-to-heavy manufacturing environment. This setting may expose employees to a range of industrial conditions, including high noise levels, dust, various odors, and contact with machining coolants and oils.

Physical Demands:

Mobility and Lifting: This role requires frequent movement and the ability to lift and move objects. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The job may also require occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
Vision: Specific vision requirements include close vision for reading documents and labels, distance vision, and the ability to distinguish colors, as well as peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. A minimum of 20/20 vision with or without corrective lenses is required.
Safety Equipment: The employee must be physically able to safely utilize, and wear required PPE, such as a dust mask, steel-toe footwear, and safety glasses.
Hoisting Equipment: The ability to safely operate hoisting equipment is a core physical requirement of the job.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3 p.m., 40 hours per week.

Travel:

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience:

High School Graduate: A high school diploma or equivalent is the minimum educational requirement.
