Responsibilities
- Rotating shift work including nights and weekends
- Welding, cutting and fabrication
- Maintain all mechanical systems related to the rolling process
- Troubleshoot and repair of high-pressure hydraulic systems
- Rigging, crane and mobile equipment operation
- Read and interpret blueprints and piping diagrams
- Personal tools required to perform routine maintenance and repair
- Work with operations and maintenance groups to ensure continued production
- Work with computer-based maintenance systems
Qualifications
Required
- Safety Oriented
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Prior mechanical maintenance experience in some or all of the following areas: Welding & fabricating, Industrial hydraulics, pneumatics, manual & automatic lubrication systems, Water systems, pipe fitting, Rigging, Bearing & coupling replacement, Ability to read prints & schematics.
- Strong willingness to learn
- Understanding of physics (heat transfer, fluid flow, force and power transmission)
- Understanding of mathematics (geometry, trigonometry)
- Willingness to work scheduled and non-scheduled overtime
- Strong teamwork focus
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Ability to multi-task & prioritize work assignments with production needs
Preferred
- At least two years experience in industrial maintenance
