ServiceNow Developer Senior

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a ServiceNow Developer Senior based in the United States.

This senior-level role focuses on designing, developing, and customizing solutions on the ServiceNow platform for mission-critical government environments.
You will build applications, automate workflows, integrate systems, and enhance ITSM capabilities to address complex business and technical requirements.
The position combines hands-on software development with platform administration, troubleshooting, technical leadership, and continuous process improvement.
You will collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate requirements into effective solutions aligned with customer value streams.
The role offers a fully remote environment with opportunities to lead technical initiatives, mentor colleagues, and contribute to evolving development methodologies.

Accountabilities:

• Develop and customize applications and modules on the ServiceNow platform, particularly within ITSM areas such as Incident, Problem, and Change Management.

• Create custom scripts, including Business Rules and Script Includes, to automate processes and address business requirements.

• Design and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using REST, SOAP, web services, and related technologies.

• Perform ServiceNow administration activities, including user and role management, system maintenance, and platform health checks.

• Customize user interfaces, forms, workflows, and other platform functionality to align with operational and business needs.

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for platform functionality and integrated processes.

• Partner with end users, stakeholders, and management to define and develop reports, dashboards, and data analysis solutions.

• Participate in technical process reviews, postmortems, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Analyze requirements, identify technical challenges, troubleshoot issues, and develop effective solutions.

• Contribute to methodology improvements, customer deliverables, technical specifications, and proposal activities.

• Lead Scrum demonstrations, working groups, and other team initiatives while communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences.

• Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, influence technical decisions, and mentor junior team members to support professional development.

• Maintain relevant ServiceNow and industry certifications and pursue additional certifications as appropriate.

Requirements:

• Technical training, relevant certification(s), or a degree in a technical or related discipline.

• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience.

• Demonstrated experience developing and customizing ServiceNow applications and modules, particularly ITSM solutions.

• Experience creating and consuming integrations using REST, SOAP, web services, or similar technologies.

• Strong scripting capabilities in at least one programming language, preferably JavaScript.

• Familiarity with ServiceNow data management tools such as Import Sets, Transform Maps, and the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).

• Ability to understand complex requirements, troubleshoot technical issues, and develop practical solutions aligned with customer needs.

• Understanding of Agile software testing and development lifecycles, including smoke testing, integration testing, and production deployment.

• Ability to identify, understand, document, and develop functionality that supports customer value streams.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced software development environment.

• Ability to learn and adopt new technologies quickly.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, and decision-making abilities.

• Ability to identify and resolve process issues, support methodology changes, and manage customer deliverables.

• Ability to act as a technical authority and contribute to proposals and technical specifications.

• Experience leading Scrum demonstrations, work groups, or collaborative technical initiatives.

• Ability to influence stakeholders at different levels and mentor junior professionals.

• Active ServiceNow Certified System Administrator certification.

• Active Top Secret security clearance or DOE Q Access Authorization.

• U.S. citizenship is required.

• Ability to work remotely within the United States.

• Availability for less than 10% travel.
