Position Overview

We are seeking a Service Desk Technician to join a growing IT support team. This role is responsible for delivering a positive customer experience by professionally and efficiently handling incoming support requests, troubleshooting technical issues, monitoring system performance, and ensuring operational continuity. The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver with excellent communication skills and a customer-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support by responding to incoming calls, emails, and support requests from end users and operational teams.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and system-related issues, escalating complex problems as necessary.
• Serve as a backup operations resource to help maintain system integrity and business continuity.
• Monitor system alerts, error logs, and communication channels, reporting and escalating issues according to established procedures.
• Enter and maintain accurate information within scheduling and operational systems.
• Complete daily operational tasks and checklists accurately and on time.
• Participate in project initiatives and support implementation efforts as assigned.
• Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for software updates and enhancements.
• Process and complete system configuration requests.
• Monitor processing issues, perform preliminary troubleshooting, and coordinate escalation when needed.
• Support additional operational and technical tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Customer-focused mindset with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Technical aptitude with a solid understanding of computer hardware, software, and common workplace technologies.
• Ability to learn new systems, processes, and technologies quickly.
• Willingness to take on new responsibilities and continuously develop technical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience in a Help Desk, Service Desk, Technical Support, or Customer Support environment.
• Experience with hardware troubleshooting, deployment, and break/fix support.
• Familiarity with ticket management systems and incident tracking processes.

This is a Contract position based out of Louisville, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.75/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
