Junior Service Desk Technician (Part-Time)
Location: Hybrid (San Francisco Bay Area Preferred)
Type: Part-Time Contractor
Schedule: Approximately 20-30 hours per week
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Junior Service Desk Technician to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone early in their IT career who enjoys helping users, troubleshooting technical issues, and learning new technologies in a fast-paced environment.
You will serve as the first point of contact for employees requiring technical assistance and will work closely with senior IT staff to resolve hardware, software, and system-related issues.
Responsibilities

Provide first-level technical support via email, chat, and video calls.

Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and account access issues.

Manage and resolve support tickets in a timely manner.

Assist with user onboarding and offboarding processes.

Configure laptops, workstations, and peripheral devices.

Support Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and common business applications.

Document issues, resolutions, and technical procedures.

Escalate complex issues to senior IT team members when necessary.

Maintain a high level of customer service and communication.
Requirements

2+ year of experience in IT Support, Service Desk, or Help Desk roles.

Basic understanding of Windows and macOS operating systems.

Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace.

Knowledge of networking fundamentals (Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, TCP/IP).

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Professional level of English.
Nice to Have

Experience with ticketing systems such as Jira Service Management, Zendesk, Freshservice, or ServiceNow.

Basic knowledge of identity and access management tools.

Experience supporting remote teams.

IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Google IT Support, or Microsoft Fundamentals.
