ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

Schedule/Hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday

This position is responsible for:

Plans, develops and administers the day-to-day operations of the Service Center programs in Lee County; recruits and trains volunteers to assist in performing seasonal and daily work; performs public relations functions in the community to promote The Salvation Army services and needs; work with the command’s HR Manager to complete the recruiting, hiring, and separation process for Lee County employees.

Key Responsibilities:

Manages all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Lee County Service Center.

Works with the Service Center Advisory Council and Raleigh Area Command to determine scope of program and plans for program development.

Meets with community, church and civic groups and leaders to help coordinate activities aimed at assisting The Salvation Army and the local social services to assist those in need in Lee County; informs these organizations of ongoing needs of The Salvation Army and its clients.

Manages Advisory Council relationships in conjunction with the Area Commander.

Instructs and trains staff and volunteers in the proper methods and procedures for performing work; checks and approves work in progress and upon completion for accuracy, completeness and timeliness.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively.
Ability to operate various general office equipment including a telephone, computer, copier, and adding machine.
Ability to work well under the pressure of deadlines.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently with limited supervision.

Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Work is usually performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like, but not limited to the office environment.

Qualifications 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in management, business or related field and three years of experience managing staff and operations of a program.

or

 any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Certifications:

Valid State Driver’s License
