Server - E 55th Street Marina

The Server interacts with guests and ensures that they have a great experience when dining at the Cleveland Metroparks facility. The Server is responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner.

1. Prepares the tables, laying out napkins and utensils, making sure the condiments are refilled, performing all other preparation tasks.
2. Greets all guests warmly with an appropriate greeting.
3. Stays updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of items, etc.
4. Provides excellent customer service including suggesting dishes, assisting in drink selection, informing customers about food preparation details, communicating specific customer needs to the cooks.
5. Maintains proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering deserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses.
6. Prepares non-alcohol drinks for service to customer table.
7. Obtains payment for meals and adheres to all cash handling procedures.
8. Performs basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
9. Assists with special events as needed.
10. Provide guidance to guests on Cleveland Metroparks activities and other regional information.
11. Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns.
12. Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain a safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public. Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel.
13. Performs related duties as assigned or apparent.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 
• Prior serving experience is preferred. 
• Must be age 19 or older.
• Must complete ServSafe program.
• Basic restaurant operation knowledge preferred.
• Excellent oral communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to read and/or understand labels.
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including employees and the general public.
• Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely and persuasively using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation with ability to communicate one-on-one or in group settings.
• Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to perform with considerable independence and initiative.

Work Schedule: Must be available to work a variable schedule to include, mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays
