Job Description
Your Opportunity:
At PLACE, we're building a category-defining company at the intersection of real estate, technology, business services, and the consumer. As a profitable, hypergrowth startup, on the path to an IPO, our standards are high, our team is scrappy, and our commitment is to execute the best work of our lives.
This is YOUR CHANCE to shape the backbone of a company that's scaling rapidly and innovating boldly. As our Senior Title Specialist, you'll partner with the Director, REO Operations, founders, and executives to own oversight of title issue resolution on complex, aged, and high-risk title files, ensuring client SLAs are consistently met. If you thrive in complexity, entrepreneurial problem-solving, and believe in scaling through tech and AI, this is your PLACE.
Who Develops You: Director, REO Operations
What You're Great At:
You're a seasoned title professional who brings sharp attention to detail and strong critical thinking to even the messiest title files. You're comfortable digging into complex defects — legal descriptions, outstanding interest, mechanic's liens, judgments — and you don't stop until they're resolved. You communicate clearly and confidently, whether you're guiding a closing agent through a curative step, walking attorneys through an aged title review, or training the next generation of Title Officers. You thrive under tight timelines, manage a high volume of email with ease, and bring a team-first mindset to everything you do.
What You'll Do:
- Conduct oversight into title issues identified in title commitments to ensure closing agents are curing title correctly
- Review and maintain policies and procedures governing the title curative process
- Address escalations from clients, closing agents, or other staff in a professional and timely manner
- Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements outlined by the client
- Manage a portfolio of complex title issues, including defects related to legal descriptions, outstanding interest, mechanic's liens, judgments, and other complex title defects
- Facilitate aged title review meetings with title companies and attorneys, providing guidance on title resolution
- Conduct training for Title Officers and Title Specialists on title curative steps to resolution
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Attention to detail
- Proficient in Excel
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to solve problems; critical thinking skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Effective communication skills; ability to respond to a high volume of emails
- Team player; organized, with demonstrated ability to meet strict timelines
- Associate or College Degree with a concentration in Real Estate preferred
- 3–5 years of prior work-related experience preferred
Salary: $30-$40/hour, depending on experience
Why PLACE:
We believe people do their best work when they're trusted, supported, and surrounded by others who are equally driven. That's why this role includes a "work from the PLACE you work best" approach – at home, in an office, or on the move. Our competitive benefits include PTO as needed, comprehensive insurance coverage, a 401(k) match, stock option grants, and a stock purchase plan. Every team member is an owner, building the "PLACE" they are proud to call "my company."
PLACE is an end-to-end technology and business services platform designed to simplify the real estate lifecycle for both consumers and their real estate agents. We partner exclusively with leading real estate teams, regardless of brokerage, in 500+ locations across the United States and Canada. Some of the nation’s top producing real estate teams choose to partner with PLACE because, unlike many of the other tech companies in our industry, we feel cutting-edge proptech should support the hardest working agents instead of eliminating them.
At the forefront of our business is a consumer services model that takes the guesswork out of real estate. Clients of PLACE-powered agents will have access to a one-stop shop that streamlines the traditionally complicated process of buying, selling, maintaining, and investing in properties. Our upcoming products include in-house mortgage brokers, title and escrow services, an insurance portal, and a home improvement network referral system, among other exciting initiatives.
In addition, PLACE’s proprietary technology and business services platform helps agents offload up to 75% of their operations tasks so they can focus on being a key advisor to their clients. PLACE partners value relationships over transactions because we take care of team accounting, bookkeeping, human resources, in-house legal, design and marketing, talent acquisition, business training and coaching. Agents within PLACE-powered teams have access to employee-like benefits that are notoriously unavailable to Realtors, even at the highest production levels.
Our industry is changing and we want to bring the best candidates along for the ride. We are actively recruiting for new PLACE partners, open positions within our headquarters team, and on behalf of existing PLACE partners across the US. If you want to contribute to changing the real estate transaction and homeownership process for the better, join us today.
