Job Overview:

Perficient is looking for a Sr. Solutions Architect to join our Marketing Automation practice with deep, hands-on expertise in Adobe Marketo Engage. In this role you will serve as a technical and strategic leader across the full client lifecycle — from pre-sales and discovery through architecture, delivery, and ongoing advisory. You will champion an AI-first approach to marketing automation, helping clients harness the latest intelligent capabilities to drive pipeline, personalization, and measurable business outcomes. You will also mentor practitioners, grow the practice, and represent Perficient’s capabilities in client-facing and market-facing settings.

• Supports pre-sales activities with Practice Leadership including discovery workshops, solution scoping, SOW development, RFP responses, and executive-level proposal presentations in partnership with account executives and practice leadership

• Generates client-facing presentations, demonstrations, and proposals leveraging value-based and ROI-driven methodologies; positions Perficient’s Marketing Automation capabilities competitively

• Identifies expansion opportunities within existing accounts and proactively brings new project ideas and recommendations to client stakeholders

• Designs and architects end-to-end marketing automation solutions with a deliberate AI-first approach — evaluating, recommending, and integrating AI capabilities including generative content, predictive lead scoring, intelligent audience segmentation, and AI-driven campaign orchestration into Marketo-based ecosystems

• Advises clients on emerging AI and automation capabilities within the Martech stack and develops a point of view on responsible, results-driven AI adoption

• Develops proof-of-concept projects and innovation pilots to validate new architectures, AI-enhanced workflows, and emerging platform capabilities

• Serves as the senior hands-on Marketing Automation SME across engagements, providing solutions to complex business problems grounded in real-world enterprise experience

• Conducts business process review meetings and defines detailed technical and functional requirements for marketing automation solutions spanning campaign operations, lead management, data architecture, and CRM integration

• Creates comprehensive marketing automation implementation plans including sales and marketing alignment frameworks, lead-to-revenue strategies, database governance requirements, automation configuration, and functional integration mapping

• Leads architecture projects from requirements through delivery — interacting with cross-functional teams to architect, design, develop, test, and deploy scalable Marketo-based solutions

• Oversees and executes marketing automation audits, platform migrations, CRM integrations, and rebuilds as a delivery leader within cross-functional project teams

• Mentors and coaches junior architects, consultants, and developers — building team capability, conducting code and configuration reviews, and contributing to onboarding and training programs

• Contributes to Marketing Automation practice development through thought leadership (blogs, webinars, conference participation), internal enablement sessions, and IP creation including methodologies, implementation accelerators, and reusable delivery assets

• Proactively provides strategic insights and best-practice recommendations to improve client maturity and long-term platform health

• Collaborates with account managers, project managers, and practice leadership to manage client relationships, support resource planning, and ensure delivery excellence

• Executes hands on operational MAP support as needed by the account team and supports and fills gaps in day-to-day marketing operations 

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in marketing automation, demand generation, or marketing technology consulting in a Marketo-centric enterprise environment

  • Additional CRM platform experience strongly preferred: Salesforce (SFDC) and/or Microsoft Dynamics

• Deep, hands-on Marketo expertise required — including program architecture, smart campaign design, segmentation, lead scoring models, email and landing page development, token strategy, data management, and instance administration

• Marketo Certified Expert (MCE) required; Marketo Certified Solutions Architect (MCSA) strongly preferred

  • Additional MAP certifications (HubSpot, Pardot/MCAE, Eloqua, Salesforce Marketing Cloud) a plus

• Proven experience with Marketo platform migrations, CRM integrations, and multi-instance or multi-workspace configurations

• Demonstrated AI-first mindset with practical experience applying AI capabilities within marketing automation contexts — including AI-powered content generation, predictive lead scoring, dynamic audience segmentation, and intelligent campaign orchestration

  • Familiarity with AI tools and platforms relevant to the Martech stack 

• Deep understanding of digital marketing and demand generation ecosystems and how they connect brands to buyers across B2B and B2C contexts

• Proven pre-sales experience: facilitating discovery sessions, developing RFP responses, writing SOWs, creating solution presentations, and closing engagements alongside account executives

• Proficiency in developing business cases, eliciting requirements, and driving solution strategy with non-technical stakeholders, development teams, and cross-functional project members for enterprise-level clients

• Experience defining new architectures and the ability to lead an engagement independently from an architectural standpoint

• Demonstrated leadership experience — mentoring team members, running internal enablement, and contributing to practice or capability development

• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple high-complexity, high-speed digital transformation engagements simultaneously

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to translate complex technical concepts for executive and non-technical audiences with clarity and confidence

• Experience leading or coordinating teams of 5–10+ practitioners across architecture, development, and QA functions

• Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies; Agile/Scrum experience a plus

• Background in digital marketing agencies, marketing technology consulting, or Martech managed service providers preferred

Preferred Skills and Education:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Certification

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $92,118 to $202,730.
