Senior Software Engineer

Finvi is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in MultiValue database environments, including PICK, Rocket Universe, and jBASE, to join our growing technology services team. This role combines software development, database administration, and systems support responsibilities to ensure the stability, performance, and ongoing evolution of mission-critical business applications.

You will play a key role in developing and maintaining enterprise collection and account management systems while partnering with business stakeholders, infrastructure teams, and customers to deliver reliable and scalable solutions. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, database administration, and systems support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex business and technical challenges.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who understands both legacy and modern technologies and can effectively support highly available production environments.

 What You'll Do

Development & Support 

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain applications running on PICK, Universe, and jBASE platforms
• Analyze business and customer requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, system issues, and performance bottlenecks
• Develop and maintain MultiValue BASIC programs, DICTs, PAs, and PROCs.
• Support integrations with third-party applications, databases, and business systems
• Enhance existing functionality while ensuring application reliability and maintainability

Database Administration 

• Administer and support MultiValue database environments including Rocket Universe and jBASE
• Monitor and optimize database performance, indexing, structures, and queries
• Manage backups, recovery processes, and disaster recovery procedures
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with organizational standards
• Execute upgrades, migrations, and patch management activities

Systems Administration & Operational Support 

• Install, configure, and maintain application and server environments.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity
• Troubleshoot operating system, networking, application, and infrastructure issues
• Manage user access, permissions, and security controls
• Provide Level 2/Level 3 production support for critical business systems
• Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and system diagrams

Collaboration 

• Partner with Product, Operations, Infrastructure, and Customer teams to deliver business solutions
• Work directly with clients and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and implement enhancements
• Participate in system modernization, integration, and migration initiatives

What You'll Need

• 5+ years of experience developing and supporting applications within PICK/MultiValue environments

Hands on Experience with:

• PICK Systems
• Rocket Universe
• jBASE
• MultiValue BASIC programming
• DICTs, PAs, and PROCs
• Strong MultiValue database administration experience.
• Experience administering Linux/Unix and/or Windows server environments.
• Knowledge of system monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
• Experience with backup, recovery, and business continuity processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent customer-facing communication and relationship management abilities.
• Direct experience with CUBS/TCS (The Collector System).
• Experience developing and maintaining complex data exchanges, interfaces, and integrations.
• ETL and data migration technologies
• Experience supporting collection management platforms within the Accounts Receivable Management (ARM) industry
• Understanding of debt recovery processes, payment processing, contact center technologies, account management systems, and collections operations

The base salary range for this role is listed above. Total compensation ultimately depends on the candidate’s primary work location, job responsibilities, role requirements, relevant experience and skillset.
