Position Description

We are seeking an engaging, technically sharp Senior Sales Engineer to partner with our Sales team across the United States. You should be a problem-solver, comfortable with front-end UI technologies, and confident presenting to and engaging directly with prospects and customers, from individual contributors to executive stakeholders. The ideal candidate has experience supporting technical sales cycles, is hands-on with UI and scripting technologies and CI/CD pipelines, and has a strong understanding of the accessibility software domain and solutions landscape. You'll partner with Account Executives to understand prospect environments, key players, needs and goals, and build and deliver technical solutions that help win and expand business.

Primary Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical resource for the sales team throughout the sales cycle, from discovery through close

• Deliver compelling product demonstrations, technical presentations, and proofs of concept tailored to prospect and customer needs

• Partner with Account Executives to qualify opportunities, scope technical requirements, and shape solution strategy

• Develop a deep understanding of each prospect's accessibility objectives, use cases, technical environment, and key stakeholders

• Respond to RFPs/RFIs and security/technical questionnaires with accurate, compelling answers

• Lead technical evaluations and pilot implementations, working with prospects to validate Deque solutions against their requirements

• Articulate the value of Deque's products and solutions as prospects build and mature their accessibility programs

• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success to relay market and prospect feedback and ensure smooth handoff from sales to onboarding

• Mentor junior sales engineers and contribute to improving demo environments, technical sales collateral, and presales processes

• Stay current on accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA, Section 508) and the competitive landscape to sharpen positioning

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in software development, solutions engineering, or a similar customer-facing technical role, including at least 3 years in a sales engineering or presales capacity

• Deep understanding of UI (web and mobile) and front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.)

• Good understanding of CI/CD pipeline components and SaaS architectures

• Experience with UI test automation frameworks

• Good understanding of SDLC and its components

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor technical messaging to both technical and executive audiences

• Proven track record of running technical sales cycles and driving deals to close alongside a sales team

• Strong understanding of the accessibility software domain and customer needs

• Ability to manage multiple concurrent sales opportunities and prioritize effectively

• Willingness to travel up to 30% for customer meetings, conferences, and events

• Must be based in the United States and authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
