Position Summary:

The Senior Principal Architect, Supply Chain Enterprise Architecture will be aligned with Digital Transformation Order Fulfillment (DTx – OF) domain of Supply Chain with focused on the Supply Chain Design & Orchestration, Supply Chain Execution and Integrated Demand planning program to drive portfolio’s intentional architecture to maintain architectural runway to achieve business outcomes.

This key role will conceive strategies, solutions, build consensus, and sell/execute solutions. Serving in this role requires an individual to be a self-starter, work independently, and as a team member. A qualified candidate would have significant business knowledge with one or more areas of Supply Chain Management and/or commercial pharma services and products. And have expertise within one or more areas of information, solution, and/or technical architecture in which they concentrate.

Responsibilities:

• Primary responsibility is to ensure integrity of the technical architecture and design across the entire Order Fulfillment portfolio and associated products leveraging Cloud based applications and platforms integrations with built in quality and performance and all aspects of software and platform development lifecycle.

• Ensure all development objects defined by the business process towers are developed with defined technology patterns, principles and with positive quality outcomes.

• Technology validation and rationalizations to improve efficiency, reduce complexity and lower the total cost of ownership

• Establishment of the overall architectural patterns, viewpoints and the establishment and oversight of organization standards and policies.

• Identify major system interfaces, business capability needs, and existing architecture weaknesses and opportunities for systems.

• Enabling business and IT leaders to make investment decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities with the longer-term strategic vision of the organization.

• Mentor and coach less experienced staff and provide knowledge transfer across the organization.

• Provide guidance, road maps, patterns, principles, standards and best practices

Core Areas of Focus:

• Enterprise Architecture Expertise: Solid understanding of Enterprise Architecture techniques and patterns, with experience in aligning business capabilities with technology.

• Systems Knowledge: Demonstrated expertise in enterprise-grade systems and platforms for ERP, WMS, CRM or other relevant systems.

• Establishment of Standards: Define, develop, and enforce standard architectural principles, patterns, and processes to drive consistency and efficiency across the enterprise.

• Technology Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of technologies that enhance supply chain planning, management, and execution or commercial pharma and related technologies including AI.

• Strategic Alignment: Ensure alignment between IT strategy, architectural frameworks, and business objectives.

• Innovation Leadership: Foster innovation by evaluating emerging technologies and identifying opportunities for process improvement.

• Balanced Decision-Making: Identify opportunities to innovate by weighing the adoption of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) solutions against in-house development (Build).

• Evaluation of Options: Assess Build vs. Buy vs. Rent decisions based on the niche or competitive nature of capabilities.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and drive strategic initiatives.

• High-Level Architecture Guidance: Provide architecture and guidance for complex, cross-functional Proof of Concepts (POCs), pilots, and Digital products.

• Architectural Analysis: Analyze current architectures to identify weaknesses and drive opportunities for improvement.

• Collaboration with Application Architects: Work closely with delivery teams to ensure adherence to enterprise architecture patterns and practices.

• Facilitation of Communication: Maintain consistency across projects and product teams through effective communication and coordination.

• M&A Leadership: Lead or advise on strategic merger and acquisition activities, ensuring architectural alignment and integration.

• Change Management Expertise: Skilled in leading transformation programs, guiding organizations through change while minimizing disruption and maximizing buy-in.

• Research-Backed Decision Making: Demonstrate leadership by backing decisions with research, articulating options, pros and cons, and providing clear recommendations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, System Analysis, or a related field.

• Typically has a minimum of ten to fifteen (10 to 15) years of IT and business/industry work experience including solution architecture, application design and deployment, systems lifecycle management and infrastructure planning and operations.

• At least 3-5 years of system integration and implementation experience is required.

• Strong understanding of Enterprise Architecture techniques and patterns, as well as experience in understanding business capabilities and their alignment with technology and ability to guide technical teams and solution architects.

• Requires exposure to multiple, diverse technologies with strong techno functional and business domain knowledge and processing environments.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed recommendations.

• Proven Self-Starter with the ability to lead & drive innovation with AI

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly to diverse audiences.

• Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence stakeholders at various levels within the organization

• Ability to present and discuss business issues, strategies and technical information in a manner that establishes rapport, persuades others and gain understanding at all levels of the organization

• Ability to communication skills in interfacing with business partners and the IT community.

• Demonstrates knowledge of software development techniques and fluency in software languages and application programming interfaces.

• Demonstrates general understanding of hardware/software platforms including but not limited to operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers and integration technologies.

• Demonstrates knowledge of designing cloud native applications development with microservices and event-based architecture practices.

• Demonstrates knowledge of software development, life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, Techno/functional documents in a Agile way of working with products mindset.

$150,000 - 235,070

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
