Senior NX CAD Application Engineer

This position will be supported from a home office; location can be anywhere within the USA.

Position Summary

We’re looking for an experienced Senior NX CAD Application Engineer to join our US team. In this role, you’ll be a trusted technical partner to our customers, helping leading engineering organizations solve complex design challenges and get more value from Siemens NX and the broader digital engineering ecosystem. You’ll bring deep NX CAD expertise while taking a broader view of customer success - helping lead technical projects, supporting other engineers, identifying opportunities for automation and innovation, AI adoption and making sure solutions deliver real value for our customers. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced NX professional who wants to move beyond traditional CAD support into a role with greater technical ownership, customer responsibility, and deliver digital engineering transformation via automations and AI.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as a senior subject matter expert for Siemens NX CAD and NX best practices.

• Explore and leverage AI to provide agentic solutions to improve engineering workflows and customer outcomes.

• Contribute to automation and customization initiatives using NX Open, journaling, scripting, and related technologies.

• Contribute to presales activities, including discovery sessions, technical presentations, demonstrations, solution definition, and proposals.

• Take technical ownership of customer engagements, helping coordinate activities, solve problems, and ensure successful outcomes.

• Collaborate with Maya HTT specialists across PLM, software development, simulation, manufacturing, and AI to deliver broader customer solutions.

• Build trusted relationships with customers, understanding their engineering challenges and proactively helping them identify solutions.

• Deliver high-quality NX CAD consulting services and technical training.

• Mentor and support other engineers working on NX-related projects.

What You Bring

• 10+ years of industrial experience working with Siemens NX CAD, (product design, configuring and administering NX environments).

• Ability to work with USA ITAR materials is mandatory.

• An interest in applying AI and emerging technologies to engineering and product development workflows.

• Experience working directly with customers or internal engineering stakeholders in a consulting, application engineering, technical support, or similar role.

• Ability to troubleshoot complex problems beyond standard user-level functionality and the confidence to navigate unfamiliar technical challenges

• A strong sense of ownership and the ability to take a customer problem from initial discussion through to resolution.

• Experience leading technical activities, work packages, or customer projects.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build credibility with both technical specialists and customer stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams.

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

• Occasional travel to customer sites when required.

Nice to Have

• Experience with NX Open, NX journaling, or NX automation/customisation.

• Experience with scripting or programming, such as Python, TCL, C#, C++, or similar technologies.

• Exposure to Teamcenter or other PLM systems, particularly from an NX user or power-user perspective.

• Experience with NX CAM, NX Post Builder, Siemens Post Configurator, or related manufacturing tools.

• Experience with Solid Edge or other commercial CAD platforms.

• Experience delivering or supporting design automation solutions.

• Experience mentoring engineers or informally leading technical teams.

• Experience with additive manufacturing or other advanced manufacturing technologies.

You’ll become one of the senior technical anchors for NX within our US team - someone customers and colleagues can rely on when a problem is complex, when a project needs technical leadership, or when an opportunity requires connecting CAD expertise with automation, PLM, software, or emerging technologies.

You won’t need to be the expert in every technology. What matters is knowing NX deeply, understanding engineering, having a keen interest to adopt new technology such as AI, taking ownership, and knowing how to bring the right people together to solve the customer’s problem.
