About the role:

Samsara is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Corporate Finance & Strategy team. In this role, you will own Samsara's three-statement model and lead our monthly forecast consolidation process and executive reporting, perform quantitative and qualitative analysis to inform strategic decisions, and partner with our Finance Systems team to maintain financial planning tools and improve process efficiency and forecast accuracy.  The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, analytical, with great attention to detail and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.

In this role, you will:

• Support the monthly and quarterly corporate forecasting process and annual operating planning cycle; own and communicate the Finance forecast calendar, and collaborate across Finance & Strategy teams to drive forecast accuracy.
• Publish monthly forecast and reporting packages with key business metrics, P&L and headcount, highlighting risks and opportunities.
• Own consolidated income statement, cash flow and balance sheet forecasts.
• Partner with the Finance Systems team to maintain existing financial planning tools and support development of the AI-driven future state of Samsara's financial data and systems landscape.
• Drive the long-range planning process and model, partnering across Finance & Strategy teams to align the financial model with strategic priorities and key business assumptions.
• Lead preparation of board of directors materials, executive leadership financial reviews, and CFO financial reporting.
• Act as a key cross-functional liaison, driving stakeholder alignment and consistent implementation of changes across teams and systems.
• Support ad hoc reporting and analysis to inform business decision-making.
• Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.

Minimum requirements for the role:

• 3+ years experience in Strategic Finance or FP&A.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong financial modeling and analysis capabilities, including advanced Excel / Google Sheets and Powerpoint / Google Slides skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally in a fast-paced, often changing environment.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; comfortable presenting to senior management.
• Proactive and highly organized self-starter, able to work independently under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and curiosity about applying AI to finance processes, with a track record of delivering iterative improvements and measurable outcomes.

An ideal candidate also has:

• Industry experience in SaaS-based technology companies preferred.
• Proficiency with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Glean, Cursor, etc.), Databricks, and FP&A tools such as Workday Adaptive Planning (or similar planning systems) and NetSuite.
• Passion for building new models, processes, and mechanisms.

The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is also eligible for an initial RSU grant with no vesting cliff, and ongoing refresh opportunities tied to performance, subject to plan terms and conditions.
