Senior Field Service Representative

Travel Requirement: Up to 75% 
Location: Remote / Field-Based 

Position Summary 

The Senior Field Service Representative is responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of liquid cooling systems supporting mission-critical and high-density computing environments. As part of the Fly Squad, this role provides rapid-response technical support across customer sites throughout North America and may support global deployments as needed. 

The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical, electrical, and controls troubleshooting skills with a customer-focused mindset and the ability to operate independently in demanding data center environments. 

Key Responsibilities 

Field Service & Technical Support 

• Install, commission, and start up liquid cooling systems, including CDUs, pump skids, manifolds, and associated cooling infrastructure. 

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and corrective repairs on liquid cooling equipment. 

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, controls, and communication-related issues. 

• Conduct root cause analysis and document findings, corrective actions, and recommendations. 

• Support emergency service calls and critical customer escalations. 

Leadership & Customer Engagement 

• Lead Fly Squad field personnel during complex installations, commissioning activities, maintenance events, and customer projects. 

• Serve as the onsite project lead, coordinating daily activities, technical execution, safety compliance, and communication among customers, contractors, commissioning agents, and internal teams. 

• Act as the primary liaison between Motivair and the customer, ensuring clear communication of project status, technical issues, risks, and resolution plans. 

• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and direction to field technicians and service partners while maintaining a collaborative team environment. 

• Drive successful project execution by facilitating coordination between engineering, operations, sales, and customer stakeholders.
• Represent Motivair professionally at customer sites and maintain strong customer relationships that promote trust, satisfaction, and long-term business growth. 

Commissioning & Startup 

• Execute equipment startup procedures and validate operational performance. 

• Verify installation quality and compliance with engineering specifications. 

• Support factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and commissioning activities. 

• Coordinate with customers, contractors, commissioning agents, and internal teams. 

Customer Support 

• Serve as the primary technical representative during onsite engagements. 

• Provide technical guidance and operational training to customers. 

• Maintain professional communications and deliver exceptional customer service. 

• Develop strong working relationships with data center operators, contractors, and service partners. 

Documentation & Reporting 

• Complete service reports, maintenance records, and expense documentation accurately and on time. 

• Update service activities within CMMS, CRM, or other business systems. 

• Provide detailed recommendations for equipment reliability and performance improvements. 

• Support warranty evaluations and technical investigations. 

Safety & Compliance 

• Adhere to all company safety policies and customer site requirements. 

• Perform work in accordance with OSHA and industry safety standards. 

• Participate in job hazard analyses and risk assessments. 

• Maintain required certifications and safety training. 

Required Qualifications 

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, HVAC, Mechanical Systems, or equivalent experience. 

• 5+ years of field service experience supporting mission-critical equipment, industrial systems, HVAC, chilled water, or liquid cooling solutions. 

• Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control systems. 

• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and technical documentation. 

• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and service management systems. 

• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport for international travel if required. 

• Ability to travel up to 75%. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience supporting liquid cooling technology in data centers. 

• Knowledge of CDU operation, pumps, heat exchangers, PLCs, sensors, and control systems. 

• Experience with Schneider Electric, Vertiv, Motivair, Liebert, Stulz, or similar mission-critical cooling equipment. 

• Data center commissioning and startup experience. 

• Electrical troubleshooting experience up to 480 VAC. 

• OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E, or similar safety certifications.

• Ability to travel frequently via air and ground transportation. 

• Ability to work extended hours and occasional weekends when supporting critical customer needs.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 101,600 - USD 152,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
