POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior ERP Engineer to own and manage our Deltek Vantagepoint and Trimble Spectrum environments. This role is critical to the success of our engineering and mechanical services organization, serving as the primary technical resource for ERP system administration, reporting, configuration, user management, upgrades, and audit support. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively across all levels of the organization, and is committed to delivering high-quality results within demanding project timelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• System Administration & Configuration
  • Serve as the primary administrator for Deltek Vantagepoint and Trimble
  • Spectrum ERP platforms, ensuring optimal system performance, reliability, and availability.
  • Configure and maintain modules including Project Management, Accounting,
  • Procurement, Timekeeping, and HR/Payroll to align with business processes and compliance requirements.
  • Design, implement, and maintain system integrations between Vantagepoint,
  • Spectrum, and other enterprise tools (e.g., payroll processors, CRM, document management systems).
  • Manage and enforce system security settings, roles, and data access controls in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
• Reporting & Business Intelligence
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize custom reports and dashboards using Crystal Reports, Power BI, and SQL.
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, analysis, and validation across ERP databases.
  • Partner with Finance, Project Management, and Operations teams to translate business requirements into accurate, actionable reports.
  • Create and manage ad hoc reports for executive leadership, auditors, and project managers as needed.
  • Establish and maintain a standardized reporting library and ensure data integrity across all report outputs.
• User Management & Support
  • Manage user provisioning, deprovisioning, role assignments, and access permissions across all ERP modules.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and troubleshooting for end users, resolving ERP-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex ERP issues, coordinating with Deltek support, Trimble support, and third-party vendors when necessary.
• Upgrades, Patches & System Lifecycle
  • Plan, test, and execute Deltek Vantagepoint and Trimble Spectrum version upgrades, patches, hotfixes, and service packs in coordination with IT leadership.
  • Maintain non-production environments (development, test, staging) to support upgrade validation and configuration testing.
  • Develop and maintain upgrade runbooks, test plans, rollback procedures, and change management documentation.
  • Stay current with Deltek and Trimble product roadmaps, release notes, and industry best practices to proactively recommend system improvements.
• Audit Support & Compliance
  • Serve as the primary ERP technical resource during internal and external audits (financial, operational, and compliance audits).
  • Prepare, extract, and validate data and system reports required by auditors on tight timelines.
  • Ensure ERP configurations, access controls, and transactional workflow comply with applicable regulatory and organizational requirements.
• Project Delivery & Collaboration
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Finance, HR, Engineering,
• Project Controls, and Executive Leadership.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and milestones clearly and consistently to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and accountability when working under tight project deadlines.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Accounting, or a related field
• 5+ years of hands-on experience administering and configuring ERP systems in a professional services, engineering, or construction environment.
• Experience with any major ERP platform (e.g., Deltek Vantagepoint, Trimble Spectrum, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) is required; familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint and/or Trimble Spectrum is a strong plus.
• Strong proficiency in Crystal Reports, Power BI, and SQL for report development, data analysis, and business intelligence.
• Demonstrated experience with ERP upgrades, patches, and system lifecycle management.
• Experience managing user access controls, roles, and security configurations within enterprise platforms.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within aggressive project timelines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
• Direct experience with Deltek Vantagepoint and/or Trimble Spectrum administration and configuration.
• Certification(s) in Deltek, Trimble, or other ERP products.
• Experience in the engineering, mechanical, or construction services industry.
• Familiarity with database administration (SQL Server) and Windows Server environments.
• Knowledge of IT change management frameworks (ITIL, ITSM).
• Prior experience supporting financial or compliance audits from a systems perspective.
• Experience with API integrations, ETL processes, or middleware platforms.
