Senior Electrical Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer based in United States.

This is a senior electrical engineering role focused on leading complex building engineering projects from technical design through delivery.
You will provide technical expertise across electrical power, lighting, medium-voltage distribution, microgrids, photovoltaic, battery, and low-voltage systems.
The role combines hands-on engineering with project management, quality oversight, team leadership, and client-facing responsibilities.
You will guide technical teams, review deliverables, manage project scope and schedules, and ensure resources are aligned with project needs.
You will also contribute to proposals, professional presentations, training, and the ongoing development of engineering talent.
The position supports commercial, mixed-use, aviation, hospitality, high-rise, and other complex built-environment projects.
Working arrangements may be remote, hybrid, or in-person depending on alignment with a U.S. office, with opportunities for continued professional growth.

Accountabilities:

• Lead electrical engineering technical work for complex projects, applying advanced knowledge of building electrical systems, components, design standards, and modeling practices.
• Develop and review electrical models, plans, details, drawings, calculations, and construction documents while ensuring high-quality technical deliverables.
• Provide technical guidance across medium-voltage distribution, microgrids, photovoltaic systems, battery systems, building power, lighting design, and low-voltage systems.
• Perform and oversee electrical calculations and analyses, including SKM studies, arc-flash analysis, and photometric calculations using tools such as AGI or ElumTools.
• Track project scope, schedules, fees, staffing, and overall progress, adjusting project and resource plans as requirements change.
• Oversee engineering project phases from initiation through completion, ensuring projects meet schedule, budget, quality, and technical objectives.
• Lead technical reviews, QA/QC activities, and coordination of design documents across engineering disciplines.
• Serve as a technical expert and discipline representative in project meetings, client engagements, conferences, networking events, and professional organizations as required.
• Contribute to proposals and presentations by communicating technical capabilities and project solutions to clients and other stakeholders.
• Mentor and support team members through technical guidance, training, knowledge sharing, and career development initiatives.
• Communicate complex technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders and respond appropriately to client, regulatory, and business inquiries.
• Support innovation and continuous improvement by encouraging collaborative problem-solving, creative thinking, and high standards of engineering excellence.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related field, combined with approximately 15 years of relevant professional experience.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) certification is required.
• At least 10 years of experience leading engineering projects.
• Strong experience with building power systems, lighting design, medium-voltage distribution, SKM analysis, and photometric calculations; experience with AGI or ElumTools is preferred.
• Experience designing electrical systems for commercial, mixed-use, aviation, hospitality, high-rise, or similarly complex building environments is preferred.
• Experience designing sustainable building systems, with familiarity with LEED, Green Building Institute, or other sustainability credentials.
• Substantial experience with Autodesk Revit 3D modeling and directing the preparation of construction documents.
• Experience conducting and leading QA/QC and coordinating design documentation across disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of discipline-specific engineering software and electrical calculation tools.
• Excellent presentation, interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex scientific, technical, and industry documentation.
• Ability to provide thoughtful and effective responses to sensitive inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, and business stakeholders.
• Ability to produce technical opinions, articles, and thought-leadership content using original or innovative approaches.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate team members, communicate technical concepts clearly, and foster a collaborative and innovative environment.
• Willingness to travel to project sites or offices as needed.
• Must already be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
