Senior Director - Strategic Finance

Location requirements:Remote based role. Open to candidates located in the Bay Area, CA, as well as throughout the United States.
About the Role:BigPanda Inc. is seeking a strategic, analytical, and highly collaborative Senior Director of Strategic Finance. This role sits at the center of corporate strategy and finance as we transition from a SaaS to AI-native, high growth business, solving some of the biggest pain points enterprise CIOs face today.
You will be responsible for leading company-wide strategic and financial planning, investor relations and board reporting, multi-AI Product Revenue modeling, cashflow and capital efficiency management, while also acting as an embedded strategic partner to GTM, Product, and R&D leadership. This is a highly visible role that partners directly with executive leadership, the Board, and external stakeholders to shape decision-making and drive capital-efficient growth.This role goes well beyond traditional FP&A — you will act as a strategic advisor, helping translate complex business dynamics into clear financial narratives, while building and enhancing the infrastructure, models, and processes required to support a high growth AI company, going through a rapidly evolving business model.
This full-time position reports to the VP of Strategic Finance & Business Analytics, will have direct reports and works closely with senior leadership across GTM, Product, G&A, and Business Strategy and Operations functions. What you will do:

• Own and lead company-wide financial and business planning processes, including annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range scenario modeling.
• Build and maintain sophisticated financial models that support SaaS and emerging AI business models (ARR, consumption-based pricing, margin structures, etc.).
• Lead cashflow forecasting and capital planning, ensuring strong visibility into liquidity, runway, and investment capacity.
• Partner with executive leadership to define and operationalize corporate strategy, including growth initiatives, pricing evolution, and AI monetization.
• Lead Investor Relations efforts, including investor communications, financial storytelling, and preparation of materials for current and prospective investors.
• Own Board and Management reporting, delivering clear, concise, and insight-driven narratives on business performance, risks, and opportunities.
• Serve as an embedded finance business partner to GTM, Product, and/or R&D leadership, providing decision support on pricing, resourcing, and investment tradeoffs and build & maintain KPI frameworks (leading/lagging indicators) that connect financial outcomes to operational drivers across all functions.
• Continuously improve Finance processes, systems, and reporting capabilities, incorporating automation and AI-driven insights where appropriate.

 What skills and experience you’ll bring to BigPanda:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or comparable quantitative field
• 10+ years of experience spanning corporate FP&A and finance business partnering (or a strong track record in one with clear exposure to the other), investment banking, private equity, or strategic finance, with significant experience in SaaS and expanding exposure to AI-native performance metrics
• Proven experience supporting Investor Relations, Board reporting, and executive-level decision-making.
• Strong expertise in financial modeling, including SaaS metrics (ARR, CAC, LTV) and AI/consumption-based revenue models.
• Experience in cashflow modeling, capital planning, and managing through an unpredictable investment trade-off environment, with urgency
• Track record of fundraising and/or M&A transactions.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to connect financial insights to broader business objectives and strategic imperatives.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to distill complex analyses into clear narratives for executives and investors. Must have an opinion.
• Strong cross-functional leadership and influencing skills — able to partner effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with ambiguity and changing priorities.

Market competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range of $229,500 - $310,500. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location.
