Senior Director of Product Marketing

The Opportunity

This is not a maintenance job. It is a build job. As Assembly's Senior Director of Product Marketing, you will set the go-to-market strategy, defend it to the leadership team, and then write the positioning, pricing guidance, launch plans and sales content that come from it. You will not inherit a team. You will build the influence and, over time, the function.

What You'll Do

You'll set the go-to-market strategy: who we sell to, where growth comes from, how we compete, and what Sales, Customer Success and Marketing lead with. You'll own positioning and messaging, the one story Assembly tells about itself, including our point of view on where legal technology is heading. You'll set the pricing and packaging principles, from tiers through specific price points, and you'll run every launch that matters, from beta through general availability, with the field ready before customers ask.

You'll also own the content Sales actually uses, pitch decks, demo scripts, business-case tools, and keep improving it as the field tells you what's working. Underneath all of it, you'll own how we learn from buyers: who buys, how they decide, and why we win or lose, backed by evidence rather than anecdote.

What You'll Bring

You've owned product marketing strategy and execution in B2B software, not just one or the other, and you can point to a go-to-market strategy you got an executive team aligned to and then held the organization to. You have a point of view on positioning that you can defend when Sales, Product or leadership push back on it, and real experience owning pricing and packaging decisions, including how they performed once they hit the market.

You're fluent with AI as a working tool, you already use it to research, write, test and produce, and you have real opinions about where it helps and where it gets in the way. You write like your customer, not your company, and you're comfortable being the sole owner of a function today, with the range to build a team as Assembly grows.

It's a bonus if you've marketed software in legal, professional services, or another vertical where the product runs the customer's business, especially AI products a professional has to trust before they'll use them.
