About This Role:

iRhythm is seeking an experienced Senior Director, Finance - Operations to lead finance support for the company’s cost-of-revenue functions, including Customer Care, Manufacturing, Cost Accounting, Clinical Operations, Quality & Regulatory, and sales and operations planning. This high-impact role will serve as a trusted finance partner and strategic advisor to the EVP, Business Operations and SVP, Quality & Regulatory, while maintaining an enterprise-wide perspective on opportunities to improve performance, scalability, and decision-making. The successful candidate will be a creative, hands-on, self-directed leader who takes ownership, works effectively through ambiguity, and combines strategic leadership with a willingness to dive into the details.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set the strategy, vision, and direction across all major cost-of-revenue functions, including Customer Care, Manufacturing, Cost Accounting, Clinical Operations, Quality & Regulatory, and other operations areas as the business evolves. Ensure finance priorities, resources, and operating practices are aligned to enterprise growth, profitability, and scalability objectives.
• Serve as a trusted finance partner and strategic advisor to the EVP, Business Operations, the SVP, Quality & Regulatory, and other executive leaders on operations strategy, operating-model choices, risk, and long-term value creation. Influence critical enterprise decisions through clear insight, constructive challenge, and an integrated financial perspective. 
• Own long-range planning, annual budgeting, monthly and quarterly forecasting, and performance management for cost of revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, and capital investments within the supported functions.
• Transform and strategically position the operations finance and cost-accounting organization for the future. Assess roles, capabilities, capacity, and ways of working; recruit and develop talent; clarify accountability; and build a durable, high-performing team that will support the company’s long-term strategic vision.
• Provide direct leadership and hands-on oversight of cost accounting through the existing leadership structure. Improve close execution, standard costing, inventory accounting, reconciliations, controls, documentation, analytics, and business partnership.
• Partner with Finance leadership, Accounting, Internal Audit, and external auditors to define and sustain the control environment for inventory and cost of revenue. Define and lead the operations and cost-of-revenue integration of new acquired businesses, including cost structures, inventory, supply continuity, operating metrics, forecasting, reporting, and gross-margin improvement opportunities.
• Build scalable operations finance and cost-of-revenue capabilities for new adjacencies, including planning, reporting, cost allocation, operational readiness, and visibility to key performance and margin drivers.
• Strengthen the sales and operations planning process by connecting demand plans with capacity, labor, inventory, supply, service levels, and financial outcomes. Translate operational assumptions into clear risks, opportunities, and actions.
• Develop forward-looking models, dashboards, and operating metrics that connect real-time business activity to cost, capacity, productivity, and gross-margin outcomes. Ensure leaders have trusted, scalable insights to support executive decision-making.
• Partner with operations leaders to identify, prioritize, and track productivity, sourcing, automation, network, and process-improvement initiatives, including benefits realization and risks to delivery.
• Provide timely analysis of actual results, forecast variances, risks, and opportunities. Communicate insights clearly and recommend practical corrective actions when performance or strategic commitments are at risk.
• Operate as a strategic leader who takes a hands-on approach personally engaging in models, data, close issues, integrations, and special projects while building the talent, processes, and capabilities needed to scale support over time
• Identify and sponsor enterprise opportunities that cross functions, business units, and geographies. Align executive stakeholders, resolve competing priorities, and mobilize leaders around changes that improve company performance, scalability, and long-term value, including opportunities beyond traditional finance boundaries.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Experience and Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 15 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; or 12 years with a Master’s degree; or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of leadership experience, including demonstrated success building, stabilizing, and developing high-performing finance teams.
• Deep expertise in cost accounting and operational finance, including responsibility for inventory, standard costs, manufacturing variances, cost of revenue, close processes, and related controls across complex operating organizations.
• Significant experience providing strategic financial leadership within complex manufacturing and operational environments is required.
• Experience leading finance organizations within regulated industries such as medical device, healthcare services, medtech, or other closely related healthcare environments with demonstrated success balancing growth, operational performance, quality, compliance, and financial objectives.
• Public-company leadership experience is required, including experience working with internal and external auditors and supporting SOX-compliant processes and controls.
• Deep expertise in US GAAP, operational finance, cost accounting, inventory accounting, financial controls, planning, forecasting, and executive performance management, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable business strategies.
• Proven track record serving as a strategic advisor to executive leadership while constructively challenging assumptions and influencing decisions without direct authority.
• Demonstrated experience improving finance organizations, processes, controls, systems, and analytics in a complex, fast-growing, or changing environment.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to translate operational data into clear financial implications and actionable recommendations.
• Enterprise-minded leader with strong ownership, sound judgement, and the ability to operate effectively at both a strategic and tactical level, engaging directly in critical business challenges while building scalable organizational capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial and operational matters clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate ambiguity, balance competing priorities,, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
• High degree of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, financial planning tools, enterprise resource planning systems, and data and reporting platforms.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:

• Experience with QAD or a comparable manufacturing ERP platform.
• Experience integrating acquired businesses and building finance capabilities for new products, services, or adjacencies.
• Experience leading or materially improving a sales and operations planning process.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams or shared-service organizations.

Travel Requirements:

Frequent travel to key operations sites and other company locations is required, based on business needs.

Overtime/Additional Hours Requirements:

Additional hours may be required for this exempt position.

Physical Requirements:

Normal office environment. Indoor work in a climate-controlled environment. Sedentary work, including sitting for extended periods and occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Actual compensation may vary depending on job-related factors including knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.

Estimated Pay Range

$206,000.00 - $268,000.00
