Summary

The Senior Customer Enablement Manager will design and build the Horizon3 Customer Academy to accelerate customer value and product adoption. This role involves creating technical learning paths, certifications, and hands-on training modules while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Job Description

Get to Know Us

Horizon3 is a fast-growing, remote cybersecurity company dedicated to the mission of enabling organizations to proactively find and fix and verify exploitable attack vectors before criminals exploit them. Our flagship product, the NodeZeroTM platform, delivers production-safe autonomous pentests and other key assessment operations that scale across the largest internal, external, cloud, and hybrid cloud environments. NodeZero has been adopted by organizations of all sizes, from small educational institutions to government agencies and Global 100 enterprises. It is used by ITOps/SecOps teams, consulting pentesters, and MSSPs and MSPs.

We are a fusion of former U.S. Special Operations cyber operators, startup engineers, and formerly frustrated cybersecurity practitioners. We're committed to helping solve our common security problems: ineffective security tools, false positives resulting in alert fatigue, blind spots, "checkbox” security culture, cybersecurity skills shortage, and the long lead time and expense of hiring outside consultants. Collectively, we are a team of learn it alls, committed to a culture of respect, collaboration, ownership, and results.

What You’ll Do

The Senior Customer Enablement Manager is responsible for bringing the foundational Horizon3 Customer Academy to life and helping customers realize value from NodeZero faster.

This role will design, build, and continuously improve a customer learning experience that enables customers to confidently use NodeZero across its capabilities, tiers, workflows, and functionality. The focus is practical, technical, and outcome-oriented: customers should not only understand what NodeZero does, but also be able to use it effectively in their own environments.

You will build customer certifications, technical “how-to” modules, guided learning paths, hands-on exercises, and other enablement experiences that accelerate time to value, improve adoption, and create a consistent standard for customer readiness.

This is a highly hands-on role. You will personally create and refine learning content while partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Sales Engineering, Product Marketing, Attack Research, and other subject-matter experts. The ideal candidate combines strong NodeZero domain knowledge (or the ability to build that knowledge quickly) with excellent instructional design and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, useful, and impactful customer education.

You will work closely with the Head of Global Enablement and the broader enablement, Customer Success, Product, and technical SME communities across Horizon3.

Customer Academy Strategy and Architecture

  • Help define and bring to life the foundational Horizon3 Customer Academy.

  • Build a clear curriculum architecture that organizes learning by customer role, use case, capability, product tier, and level of proficiency.

  • Define learning paths that take customers from foundational concepts through advanced NodeZero usage and operational best practices.

  • Establish a scalable framework for customer education that can grow as NodeZero capabilities, products, and customer needs evolve.

  • Partner with Customer Success and Product leadership to prioritize the learning experiences that will have the greatest impact on adoption and time to value.

Customer Certifications and Readiness Programs

  • Design and launch customer certification programs that validate practical ability, not just content completion.

  • Define certification levels, learning requirements, assessments, hands-on activities, and completion criteria.

  • Build certifications that help customers demonstrate proficiency across NodeZero workflows, capabilities, and use cases.

  • Create practical assessments such as knowledge checks, scenario-based exercises, configuration activities, test planning, result interpretation, and reporting workflows.

  • Establish a repeatable approach to maintaining, improving, and expanding certifications as the platform evolves.

Technical “How-To” Content and Hands-On Learning

  • Create clear, practical technical modules that show customers how to use NodeZero effectively.

  • Develop step-by-step learning experiences covering core workflows, configuration, test execution, findings review, reporting, remediation validation, and other relevant platform functionality.

  • Translate complex technical concepts into concise, usable instruction that customers can apply in their own environments.

  • Build a blend of formats, including interactive lessons, demonstrations, walkthroughs, videos, job aids, reference guides, scenario-based exercises, and hands-on labs where appropriate.

  • Ensure content reflects the real customer experience, including prerequisites, expected outcomes, common mistakes, troubleshooting guidance, and indicators of successful execution.

NodeZero Product and Domain Enablement

  • Develop and maintain deep working knowledge of NodeZero, its capabilities, product tiers, technical workflows, and customer use cases.

  • Become a trusted translator between Product and technical subject-matter experts and the customer learning audience.

  • Stay current on product releases, roadmap changes, technical enhancements, attack research, and evolving customer needs.

  • Convert new functionality and product changes into customer-ready learning experiences in partnership with Product and Customer Success.

  • Help identify gaps where customers need clearer guidance, better workflows, or additional education to achieve meaningful outcomes.

Subject-Matter Expert Partnership

  • Build strong working relationships with Product, Engineering, Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Product Marketing, Attack Research, and other technical SMEs.

  • Create efficient processes for gathering expertise, validating technical accuracy, and turning SME knowledge into structured customer learning.

  • Facilitate content reviews and maintain a high bar for accuracy, clarity, usability, and instructional quality.

  • Make it easy for SMEs to contribute without requiring them to own the entire learning design or content-production process.

  • Establish clear ownership, review cycles, and update processes so customer education stays accurate as the platform evolves.

Learning Experience Design and Content Production

  • Personally design and produce high-quality customer enablement content for live, virtual, and self-paced learning experiences.

  • Use adult learning principles, instructional design best practices, and customer-centered design to create experiences that change behavior and build confidence.

  • Use tools such as Articulate Rise and other content creation, screen recording, video, assessment, and learning management platforms to produce engaging learning experiences.

  • Build reusable templates and standards for lessons, modules, assessments, facilitator guides, labs, and certification materials.

  • Continuously improve content based on customer feedback, learner performance, product changes, and adoption data.

Measurement, Adoption, and Continuous Improvement

  • Define and track measures of customer readiness, engagement, certification, adoption, and time to value.

  • Use completion data, assessment results, customer feedback, support themes, and Customer Success insights to identify learning gaps and improvement opportunities.

  • Partner with Customer Success and Operations to understand whether academy participation and certification correlate with stronger adoption and customer outcomes.

  • Maintain a clear roadmap for new courses, certifications, updates, and retired content.

  • Share progress, risks, and impact with enablement and cross-functional leadership.

What Success Looks Like

First 30 Days: Learn, Align, and Prioritize

  • Build a strong working understanding of NodeZero, its capabilities, product tiers, technical workflows, customer use cases, and current adoption challenges.

  • Meet with Customer Success, Product, Engineering, Sales Engineering, Product Marketing, Attack Research, Support, and other key SMEs to understand customer needs and available expertise.

  • Review existing product documentation, training, certification, and product resources to identify gaps, duplication, and quick wins.

  • Define the initial Customer Academy audience, priority personas, core learning paths, and the highest-value use cases to enable first.

  • Produce a prioritized Academy roadmap with clear near-term deliverables, owners, dependencies, and launch criteria.

By 60 Days: Build, Validate, and Launch Early Wins

  • Establish the Academy structure, content standards, course templates, certification framework, and SME contribution process.

  • Build and release an initial set of practical technical “how-to” modules for high-priority NodeZero workflows.

  • Develop the outline and requirements for the first customer certification, including proficiency standards, learning objectives, practical exercises, and assessment criteria.

  • Create at least one pilot learning path or certification experience and validate it with internal technical SMEs and a small set of customer-facing stakeholders or customers.

  • Establish a regular review cadence with Product, Customer Success, and technical SMEs to keep content accurate and moving toward launch.

By 90 Days: Ship the Foundation and Establish the Operating Rhythm

  • Launch the first production-ready Customer Academy learning path and initial technical modules.

  • Launch or pilot the first customer certification with clear completion requirements and a defined feedback loop.

  • Publish a maintainable curriculum map covering priority NodeZero capabilities, tiers, workflows, and use cases, with identified gaps and sequencing.

  • Establish the Academy operating rhythm, including intake, prioritization, content production, technical review, release updates, learner feedback, and content maintenance.

  • Define initial success measures for enrollment, completion, certification, learner confidence, adoption, and time to value.

  • Present a clear first-year roadmap and progress readout to enablement, Customer Success, Product, and executive stakeholders.

First-Year Outcomes

  • The foundational Horizon3 Customer Academy is live with a clear structure, audience strategy, learning paths, and an actively managed roadmap.

  • Multiple customer certifications and practical technical learning paths are live, covering priority NodeZero workflows, capabilities, tiers, and use cases.

  • Customers can use the Academy to build demonstrable proficiency in NodeZero, not simply consume product information.

  • Customer Success and other customer-facing teams actively use Academy content in onboarding, adoption, and value-realization motions.

  • Product and technical SMEs have a repeatable contribution and review process that supports speed without sacrificing technical accuracy.

  • Academy engagement, completion, certification, learner feedback, and adoption data are being used to improve content and prioritize future development.

  • The Academy is recognized as a practical path to customer readiness and faster time to value, with a clear connection to successful NodeZero adoption.

Who You Are

  • You are a hands-on customer enablement builder who enjoys creating the content as well as designing the strategy behind it.

  • You can understand complex technical products and turn them into clear, practical, and engaging learning experiences.

  • You are comfortable working directly with technical products, workflows, demonstrations, and customer use cases.

  • You have strong instructional design instincts and know how to make learning useful for busy technical practitioners.

  • You are confident partnering with SMEs, asking good questions, challenging unclear explanations, and bringing structure to expert knowledge.

  • You are highly organized and able to manage multiple content workstreams while maintaining quality and consistency.

  • You are curious, collaborative, detail-oriented, and motivated by helping customers become successful and self-sufficient.

  • You care about measurable outcomes such as readiness, adoption, proficiency, and time to value.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in customer enablement, technical enablement, instructional design, customer education, learning experience design, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated experience building technical customer education, certifications, academies, onboarding programs, or product training.

  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, practical, and outcome-oriented learning content.

  • Hands-on experience creating digital learning content using tools such as Articulate Rise or comparable authoring platforms.

  • Experience designing assessments, knowledge checks, practical exercises, or certification programs.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with technical SMEs and customer-facing teams.

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage content development from intake through launch and iteration.

What Sets You Apart?

  • Direct experience with NodeZero, autonomous penetration testing, offensive security, exposure management, vulnerability management, cloud security, identity security, or adjacent cybersecurity domains.

  • Experience enabling security, IT, infrastructure, DevOps, or technical practitioner audiences.

  • Experience building a customer academy or education program from the ground up.

  • Experience creating hands-on labs, technical demonstrations, interactive simulations, or scenario-based learning.

  • Familiarity with learning management systems, video and screen-recording tools, assessment platforms, and customer education analytics.

  • Experience working closely with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales Engineering in a high-growth B2B SaaS or cybersecurity company.

  • Experience working with enterprise customers and translating their questions, friction points, and success patterns into better education.
