About the Position

The Senior Corporate Philanthropy Officer plays a key role in advancing Second Harvest’s mission by identifying, cultivating, and securing corporate partnerships that generate meaningful philanthropic support and engagement. This position is responsible for developing new corporate relationships and securing philanthropic investments of $10,000+, contributing to the organization's annual corporate and employee giving goal of $10M+.

Success in this role requires a strategic relationship-builder who can engage diverse stakeholders, including C-suite executives, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) leaders, employee resource groups, and volunteers. The Senior Officer develops customized partnership strategies that align corporate priorities with Second Harvest’s mission while providing strategic insight, mentorship, and initiative to the team. As an external ambassador for the organization, they represent Second Harvest with professionalism, confidence, and purpose.

Responsibilities

Corporate Fundraising and Revenue Generation

Lead identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporate partners with a focus on securing and growing multi-year commitments and six-figure gifts.
Manage a dynamic portfolio of 80+ corporate partners with an annual portfolio revenue goal of $2.5M+.
Develop and implement customized engagement strategies that align company interests with Second Harvest’s mission and funding priorities.
Track and report on fundraising metrics, forecasting, and partner engagement using Salesforce CRM.

Capital Campaign Stewardship & Legacy

Lead the ongoing stewardship of corporate partners who supported the $150M Capital Campaign, developing engagement strategies that strengthen relationships and inspire continued investment beyond the campaign.
Manage campaign-related donor communications, recognition, and fulfillment to ensure corporate partners receive exceptional stewardship and a meaningful donor experience leading up to and following the opening of the new Central Hub.
Collaborate with the Senior Director of the Capital Campaign to coordinate campaign impact reporting, milestone communications, special events, and recognition initiatives that celebrate donor investment and demonstrate measurable community impact.
Maintain ownership of corporate campaign partner portfolios, ensuring accurate tracking of commitments, stewardship activities, and ongoing engagement opportunities that deepen long-term partnerships with Second Harvest.

Strategic Growth and Innovation

Refine and evolve Second Harvest’s corporate fundraising strategy, recommending and implementing process improvements that lead to measurable revenue growth (goal of 15% growth over three years).
Leverage industry trends and partner insights to develop new initiatives and deepen engagement across the business community.
Take initiative in identifying untapped sectors, industries, or partner opportunities that align with mission-critical needs.

Mentorship and Team Leadership

Mentor and support Corporate Philanthropy Officer(s), offering guidance, sharing best practices, and contributing to a collaborative team culture.
Support key projects within the Philanthropy department, modeling strong project management and cross-functional collaboration.

Corporate Engagement and Volunteerism

Design and implement meaningful employee engagement opportunities, including custom volunteer events, fundraising campaigns, and giving drives.
Use volunteerism as a strategic gateway to build corporate loyalty and convert engagement into philanthropy.
Drive participation in matching gift programs, supporting internal champions, and simplifying access to employer match platforms.

Public Representation and Communications

Serve as a senior external representative of Second Harvest in corporate meetings, sponsorship events, panels, and industry convenings.
Deliver persuasive and tailored presentations that clearly articulate Second Harvest’s mission and the value of partnership.
Collaborate with Marketing to craft compelling content including proposals, impact reports, stewardship materials, and donor communications that reflect both brand voice and partner priorities.

The ideal candidate will possess the following professional qualifications:

Minimum 4 years of successful experience securing corporate gifts of $10,000+, with increasing responsibility.
Demonstrated ability to build and sustain long-term corporate partnerships and produce measurable fundraising outcomes.
Knowledge of the Silicon Valley corporate and philanthropic landscape.
High-level strategic thinking and initiative-taking.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience with executive-level engagement.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
Flexibility to work evenings/weekends and ability to travel locally as needed.
Valid California driver’s license and a clean driving record.

  An employee’s regular remote work site should be within

driving distance of one of Second Harvest’s locations and must be within the state of California.

Following the opening of our Central Hub facility in spring 2027, this position will require onsite work every Tuesday and Thursday at Central Hub. 

Hours

Full-Time Exempt

40 hours/week, with some evening and weekend work as necessary

Compensation

$118,083.00 - $138,921.00 is the wage range for this position. The hourly/salary wage offer will be commensurate with skills and experience. Outstanding and generous health benefits program,

4-5 weeks of Flexible Time Off (vacation and sick), eleven paid holidays, and retirement plan.
