Senior Communications Manager

Job Details: Job Location: STL Office - Saint Louis, MO, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Position Summary
Responsible for leading and managing communications on behalf of HLK clients. The Senior Communications Manager will interface with clients and internal teams to move projects through the agency with the highest degree of efficiency and success — both from a creative and business standpoint. Ultimately, the agency’s goal is to help its clients achieve their business objectives through innovative thinking and flawless execution.

Responsibilities
• Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for assigned clients to develop and implement communications strategies for campaigns, launches and editorial calendars.
• Create and manage strategic communications plans including strategy, goals, budget, tactics and measurement.
• Identify and create new and exciting opportunities through social media and public relations and effectively communicate them through agency processes to grow deliverables.
• Develop and maintain current statuses.
• Collaborate with the account team(s) on earned media calendars and social content calendars.
• Develop, coordinate and execute all tactics outlined within the approved PR plan, including but not limited to:
o Developing the annual earned media editorial calendar.
o Establishing and managing media relationships and lists.
o Facilitating media inquiries and interview requests.
o Handling all PR writing (bylines, news releases, blogs, etc.).
o Pitching timely editorial topics, news releases, story ideas, etc. to the target media audience. o Organizing and staffing promotional events such as media days, trade shows and conferences.
o Analyzing media relations reports from owned channels and other monitoring platforms (Cision, Brand watch, Google Analytics, etc.), and developing insights and recommendations reports for clients. o Supporting report development to bring forward action items to the communications lead for new opportunities or changes.
• Lead the development and implementation of social media channels and engagement action plans.
• Design and manage influencer and advocacy programs for brands through social media.
• Provide reporting analyses to identify actionable and integrated insights that influence marketing decisions and budgets.
Qualifications: Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications or related fi eld.
• Minimum of five years of public relations or communications experience.
• Proven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at both the local and national level.
• Proven ability to be a client-facing lead for an account.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong independent decision-making, organization, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple simultaneous projects.
• Knowledge of media monitoring platforms like Brand watch, Meltwater and Cision.
• Experience with social media management tools like Sprout Social, Hootsuite, HubSpot, etc. is a plus.
