Position Summary:

The Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer serves as a key technical leader responsible for designing, building, and supporting scalable solutions across both cloud and on-premises environments. This role bridges front-end applications, back-end services, and enterprise systems to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions that support critical business operations.

As a senior individual contributor, this position owns solution architecture and implementation across a hybrid technology landscape, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and long-term modernization strategies.

Beyond solution delivery, this role is expected to influence technical direction, promote engineering best practices, mentor other engineers, evaluate emerging technologies including AI capabilities, and serve as a trusted technical advisor across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Solution Architecture & Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and APIs using modern frameworks (React, .NET Core), ensuring high performance, security, and maintainability.
• Cloud Engineering: Architect and manage Azure-based solutions, including App Services, storage, identity management, and related services to support highly available, resilient applications.
• Enterprise Integration: Design and implement integration solutions connecting cloud and on-premises systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Azure SQL) using modern iPaaS platforms such as Boomi, MuleSoft, or Azure Logic Apps.
• DevOps & Automation: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to automate testing, security validation, and multi-environment deployments.
• Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members and external partners. Lead by example in coding standards, architecture design, and development best practices.
• Vendor & Partner Oversight: Provide technical oversight of third-party development efforts, ensuring alignment with internal standards, architecture, and security requirements.
• Standards & Governance: Define and enforce development standards, architectural patterns, and best practices across solutions.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and data teams to design solutions that support enterprise data and analytics strategies.
• System Monitoring & Documentation: Ensure system reliability through monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Application Insights) and maintain clear technical documentation using tools like Swagger and Postman.
• Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and frameworks to improve system performance, scalability, and developer productivity.
• AI-Enabled Solution Development: Identify, evaluate, prototype, and implement AI-enabled solutions that improve enterprise applications, business processes, and developer productivity. Integrate generative AI capabilities using Azure AI services, Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Search, Copilot Studio, Microsoft AI Foundry, Power Platform AI capabilities, or comparable platforms to deliver secure, scalable, and production-ready solutions. Collaborate with business and technology teams to identify AI opportunities, establish reusable technical patterns, and ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, governance, and Responsible AI practices.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, including design and development of enterprise applications
• Proven experience building and supporting cloud-based applications, preferably in Microsoft Azure
• Hands-on experience developing, integrating, or supporting at least one AI, machine learning, generative AI, intelligent automation, or AI-enabled application project in Azure or a comparable cloud/platform environment
• Experience leading technical initiatives or owning solutions end-to-end
• Experience evaluating, prototyping, or integrating AI-enabled capabilities into enterprise applications or business processes.

Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency in C# and .NET (Core/.NET 6+)
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks (React, TypeScript preferred)
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based version control
• Experience with enterprise integration patterns and iPaaS platforms
• Practical understanding of AI solution patterns such as prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI service/API integration, model evaluation.
• Experience working with Azure AI services, Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Search, Azure Machine Learning, Copilot Studio, Power Platform AI capabilities, or comparable AI/ML platforms
• Experience integrating AI services or Large Language Models (LLMs) into enterprise applications using APIs and SDKs.
• Understanding of AI solution patterns including prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), semantic search, AI orchestration, and model evaluation.
• Familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks such as Semantic Kernel, LangChain, LangGraph, Microsoft AI Foundry, or similar technologies is desirable.
• Knowledge of Responsible AI principles including AI security, data privacy, governance, and protection of enterprise information.
• Understanding of vector search, embeddings, and enterprise knowledge retrieval concepts is preferred.

Cloud & DevOps:

• Experience with Azure services such as App Services, storage, and identity management
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation and deployment strategies

Leadership & Collaboration:

• Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach developers while providing technical leadership without direct supervisory authority.
• Proven ability to influence technical direction, advocate for architectural best practices, and drive adoption of engineering standards across teams.
• Ability to educate and guide technical and business stakeholders through design decisions, emerging technologies, and solution trade-offs.
• Recognized subject matter expert who represents technical expertise beyond day-to-day engineering work, contributing to strategic initiatives, architecture reviews, technology roadmaps, and evaluation of emerging technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Leads design and implementation of integration solutions critical to business operations
• Contributes to enterprise standards and best practices for cloud and application development
• Works cross-functionally with IT, data, and business teams to deliver high-impact solutions
• Evaluates emerging technologies and AI capabilities, helping define enterprise technical standards and accelerate adoption of modern engineering practices.

Physical Requirements:

• Primarily remote role requiring a dedicated, professional workspace
• Reliable high-speed internet for video conferencing and cloud-based development
• Ability to remain stationary for extended periods while working on a computer
• Occasional travel to corporate or off-site locations for collaboration, planning, or training
• Frequent use of computer equipment and ability to review detailed technical materials

National Target Base Pay Range: $117,000.00 - $195,000.00 

The salary range for this position is based on national standards. For candidates in California and the New York metro, the Target Base Pay Range is $130,000.00 - $216,000.00, to reflect the cost of living and market conditions in those areas. 

Actual compensation will take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, education, experience, qualifications, and job-related skills. It is not typical for an individual to be hired above the midpoint of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. Base pay is only one component of our total rewards offerings, and we will take the full offering into consideration when presenting an offer of employment.  Our total rewards package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, Medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401K match, and other wellness benefits.
