About the role

As Senior Analysis Developer, you will be a member of the Image Analysis (IA) team who will work with both the developer team and IA experts to improve and develop workflows as needed. In this role, you will be expected to work from within the IA team to understand the needs for new or improved tools and to help guide and direct members of the team as tools are developed. To maintain a direct understanding of the tools’ requirements, this role will also work as an analysis lead, overseeing all steps of analysis for imaging studies. Someone in this role may support a variety of different areas of the IA team.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic and Organizational leadership

• Provides support for image analysis and ensures quality control across studies.
• Follows research and industry trends and integrates them into organizational practices.
• Identifies development opportunities to improve analysis workflows and efficiencies.

Cross functional collaborations

• Partners with scientists, and analysts, to define requirements.
• Communicates complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Understands what typical workflows are used for and can explains to other team members to facilitate use, modification, and training.
• Provides updates to the wider IA team and other departments on workflow changes and solicits feedback on future improvements.

Technical leadership & Mentorship

• Modifies and maintains scripts for IA workflows (these may be VQS, python, etc.).
• Creates new scripts for IA workflows with some guidance from senior members.
• Tests new tools and/or modified tools for IA workflows (this may include validation testing).
• Oversees and monitors development and testing of tools by other team members.
• Supports training and team level documentation.
• May manage a small number of more junior analysis developers as direct reports, where required.

Innovation & Research application

• Identifies opportunities to improve existing systems with new techniques.
• Contributes to the company’s intellectual property through innovative solutions.
• Publishes and presents work at conferences.

Other

• Carries out any other reasonable duties as requested.

Functional Competencies (Technical knowledge/Skills)

• Possesses advanced scripting and programming knowledge (python, vivoscript, and similar).
• Possesses advanced understanding of core systems.
• Possesses advanced understanding of image analysis workflows, image science, and modalities (e.g. CT, MR, PET, SPECT,).
• Demonstrates strong numerical/statistical background including image processing.
• Demonstrates strong source code management skills with git.
• Demonstrates strong programming skills in languages such as Python and/or C++.
• Demonstrable ability to challenge work (such as identifying and adding new custom features with improved timelines).
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning.
• Displays strong time management skills and ability.

Experience, Education, and Certifications

• ​Solid professional experience in the same or very similar role. 
• ​Significant demonstrable experience and expertise of working in Image Analysis systems.
• Demonstrable experience in roles requiring strong organizational skills. 
• Solid proven experience of working in and knowledge of medical imaging or clinical research/development in the life sciences industry.   
• ​Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g. engineering, mathematics, physics, chemistry or biology) or a related study, or equivalent academic or industry project-related experience. 
• ​English: Fluent.
