Senior Agentic AI Software Engineer – Remote (U.S.)

About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Agentic AI Software Engineer to join a team developing an innovative AI-powered chatbot and agentic AI solution. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who has experience building intelligent applications using LLMs, AI agents, APIs, and modern software engineering practices.
The ideal candidate will have strong software development experience and a proven ability to design and implement AI-driven applications that can reason, interact with tools and services, and complete multi-step tasks.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance agentic AI and LLM-powered chatbot applications
- Build AI agents capable of multi-step reasoning, tool use, decision-making, and task execution
- Develop backend services and APIs supporting AI and chatbot functionality
- Integrate LLMs, AI services, enterprise systems, databases, and external APIs
- Develop conversational workflows and intelligent chatbot capabilities
- Implement RAG, prompt engineering, tool/function calling, and agent orchestration
- Evaluate and improve AI response quality, reliability, latency, and performance
- Build scalable, secure, and maintainable production software
- Work closely with product managers, architects, data scientists, and other engineers
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and contribute to architecture and design decisions
- Stay current with emerging Generative AI and Agentic AI technologies
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Must have business level English speaking skills to interface with clients
- Hands-on experience developing Generative AI / Agentic AI applications
- Strong experience with Python and/or Java
- Experience developing LLM-powered chatbots or conversational AI applications
- Experience with one or more major LLM platforms such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar
- Experience with AI agents, agent orchestration, function/tool calling, and RAG
- Strong experience developing REST APIs and backend services
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, testing, and CI/CD
- Experience working with databases and enterprise application integrations
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
This is a fully remote position and candidates must be located in the United States.
