Job Title: Overnight Security Guard

Property: Hilton Garden Inn Wichita Downtown

Shift: Overnight / Graveyard (10:00 PM – 6:00 AM)

Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Position Summary

The Overnight Security Guard ensures a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for hotel guests, visitors, and employees during overnight hours. This position is responsible for monitoring property grounds, maintaining physical security, responding to guest concerns or security incidents, and assisting overnight hotel operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrols & Monitoring: Conduct regular, thorough foot patrols of the property, including guest hallways, stairwells, parking areas, entryways, and employee-only areas. Monitor security cameras and access points.
• Incident Response: Promptly address security breaches, noise complaints, trespassing, or disruptive behavior, resolving conflicts with a professional and calm demeanor.
• Access Control: Ensure exterior doors and restricted access points remain secured overnight. Assist registered guests with late-night building entry or lockouts following hotel verification procedures.
• Guest Assistance: Provide friendly, hospitable service to late-arriving or overnight guests, offering assistance while maintaining a secure environment.
• Emergency Preparedness: Serve as the primary point of contact for emergency situations (e.g., fire alarms, medical emergencies, severe weather) and liaise with local law enforcement or emergency first responders when required.
• Reporting & Documentation: Complete daily overnight security logs, incident reports, and maintenance task referrals accurately before the end of each shift.
• Operational Support: Collaborate with the overnight Front Desk agent to support property operations and perform light safety inspections.

Requirements

 Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military, or hotel operations strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, conflict resolution, and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to work overnight shifts (10:00 PM to 6:00 AM), including weekends and holidays.
• Physical ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, and perform routine patrols for extended periods.
• Basic computer proficiency for logging reports and managing communication.
• Current security license or registration as required by local/state regulations (or willingness to obtain).
