Job Description
Responsibilities
- Protect company’s property, buildings, grounds, staff, patients, and visitors by maintaining a safe and secure environment
- Observe for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances
- Act lawfully in direct defense of life or property
- Apprehend criminals and evict violators
- Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences
- Report in detail any suspicious incidents
- Patrol randomly or regularly buildings, grounds, and perimeter
- Monitor and control access at building entrances, vehicle gates, and parking lots
- May transport employees and/or patients as needed
- Other related tasks as assigned within the scope of responsibility for the position
Skills
- Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position
- Trained security officer with diploma
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols
- Surveillance skills and detail orientation
- Integrity and professionalism
Required Qualifications
- Valid and Active NYS Security Guard License
- NYS Driver's License with clean driving record
- High School or Equivalency Diploma
- Speak, read, and write English
Preferred Qualifications
- Law enforcement background
- Experience in psychiatric or general healthcare facility
