TITLE: Admissions/ Ticket Sales/Gift Shop  

GENERAL PURPOSE: Position works directly with Zoo Staff to ensure daily operating of admissions and gift shop runs smoothly. The work atmosphere is comfortable, relaxed and unpredictable. 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Answer customer questions regarding Roosevelt Park Zoo
• Answer phones and direct traffic on weekends.
• Take daily ticket sales, wagon rental, and sell membership passes for GMZS
• Operate and balance cash register
• Cleaning and maintaining admissions counter, Visitor Center entry and bathrooms
• Stocking and organization of gift shop area
• Provide assistance in other areas of the Zoo as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Strong communication skills
• Enthusiastic and outgoing
• Ability to work accurately with money
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Motivated
• Team player
• Must be flexible and willing to help in the zoo, as needed

Work Environment: 

• Work is performed in and around zoo facilities.
• Subject to regular interaction with the public, standing for extended periods of time, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds

TITLE: Concession Stand 

 GENERAL PURPOSE: Assists in concession stand operations for the Roosevelt Park Zoo 

 PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.  

• Participates in day-to-day concession stand operations including customer service, food preparation, and health and safety.
• Monitors and ensures departmental compliance with all health regulations governing food preparation and handling.
• Assigned work tasks within the concession stand.
• Provides service to concession stand customers; takes orders and prepares food and drinks.
• Responds to customer inquiries pertaining to the Roosevelt Park Zoo.
• Operates cash register and performs daily balancing of cash drawer.
• Assists with concession stand inventory.
• Participates in cleaning and maintaining concession stand facilities: interior, exterior and bathrooms.
• Provide assistance in other areas of the Zoo as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

 Education and Experience: 

• High School Diploma or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 Required Licenses or Certifications: 

• Must possess a valid North Dakota Driver's License.

 Required Knowledge of: 

• Principles and practices of concession stand operations.
• Health and safety regulations governing food handling.

 Required Skill in: 

• Ensuring compliance with all regulations governing the handling and preparation of food.
• Providing customer service to the public and responding to zoo related inquires.
• Preparing food, operating a cash register, and maintaining supply inventories.

 Work Environment: 

• Work is performed in a concession stand environment and in and around zoo facilities.
