Unrivaled is a premier professional women’s 3v3 basketball league showcasing the top players in the sport. Our mission is to elevate the profile of women’s basketball through exceptional talent, groundbreaking partnerships, and unparalleled fan experiences.

JOB OVERVIEW

Unrivaled is seeking Social Media Graphics Designer to help bring the league to life across our social and digital platforms, during the 2026–2027 season. The engagement is expected to begin end of September, 2026, and continuing through approximately mid-March 2027, subject to completion of the agreed scope of services. The services are expected to be performed remotely, except as otherwise agreed by the parties.

This is a highly execution-focused creative role for a designer who understands the speed, energy, and visual language of sports and social media. The ideal candidate can move quickly without sacrificing quality, understands how design changes from Instagram to TikTok to X and YouTube, and can turn information, moments, statistics, photography, and creative concepts into compelling graphics that fans want to engage with and share.

This person will work closely with Unrivaled's Content, Social, Marketing, Basketball Operations, Partnerships, and Creative teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Social & Digital Graphics

• Create daily graphics for Unrivaled's social platforms, including Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and emerging platforms.
• Design both planned and reactive content around games, players, teams, league news, cultural moments, and breaking news.
• Create graphics that are optimized for each platform rather than simply resizing the same creative.
• Support high-volume content needs during the Unrivaled season while maintaining brand consistency and quality.
• Develop reusable templates that allow the social team to move quickly during games and breaking news moments.

Game & Basketball Content

• Create game-day graphics including:
  • Matchups and tune-in
  • Starting lineups
  • Player statistics
  • Scores and final scores
  • Standings
  • Records and milestones
  • Player achievements
  • Quotes
  • Schedule information
  • Playoff and championship graphics
• Support real-time graphics production during live games and major league events.
• Turn basketball statistics and storylines into visually compelling, easy-to-understand social content.
• Work with photography and video teams to rapidly create assets from live events.

Player & Team Storytelling

• Develop graphics that showcase the personalities, accomplishments, and stories of Unrivaled players.
• Create distinct creative executions for Unrivaled's clubs while maintaining the overall league identity.
• Support player announcements, roster announcements, transactions, awards, milestones, birthdays, and other player-driven moments.
• Help develop recurring social franchises and visual series that fans immediately recognize.

Marketing & League Initiatives

• Support graphics needs for league marketing campaigns.
• Create assets supporting ticket sales, tune-in, merchandise, events, community programs, and league announcements.
• Adapt major campaign creative into social-first executions.
• Help maintain consistency between Unrivaled's broader brand identity and its daily social presence.

Brand Partnerships

• Work with the Partnerships and Content teams to create sponsored social graphics and branded content.
• Incorporate partner branding while protecting the look, feel, and authenticity of Unrivaled.
• Execute contracted partner deliverables accurately and on deadline.
• Help find creative ways to integrate sponsors into social content without making the content feel overly commercial.

Creative Development

• Participate in brainstorms for campaigns, player storytelling, social franchises, and major league moments.
• Bring forward new design trends, formats, memes, visual styles, and social behaviors that could work for Unrivaled.
• Experiment with typography, photography, illustration, data visualization, motion, and other techniques.
• Help evolve Unrivaled's social design language as the league grows.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Approximately 2–5 years of professional graphic design experience, preferably in sports, entertainment, media, culture, or a fast-moving consumer brand.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating social-first graphic design.
• Excellent understanding of typography, composition, hierarchy, color, photography, and visual storytelling.
• Advanced proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Familiarity with After Effects, Premiere Pro, Figma, or other motion/design tools is a plus.
• Ability to work quickly and produce high-quality creative under tight deadlines.
• Strong understanding of how creative performs differently across social platforms.
• Comfortable working with sports photography and creating graphics around live events.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly around player names, statistics, scores, sponsor requirements, and brand guidelines.
• Knowledge of basketball and women's sports is strongly preferred.
• Ability to receive feedback, make adjustments quickly, and collaborate with multiple departments.
• Comfortable working in an environment where priorities can change rapidly.
