Position Summary

The Seasonal Membership Recruiter is an energetic, community-focused ambassador responsible for representing Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas (GSNETX) at recruitment and community events during the peak fall membership season. The role supports membership growth by engaging families, inspiring adults to become troop leaders, and helping girls join Girl Scouts. Recruiters create welcoming, high-energy experiences that introduce families to Girl Scouts and guide them through the first steps of joining a troop. 

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy meeting new people, working with children and families, and serving as a positive representative of Girl Scouts in the community.

Essential Responsibilities

Community Engagement & Representation

• Serve as an enthusiastic ambassador for Girl Scouts at community events, schools, and family gatherings.
• Promote the Girl Scout experience and its impact on girls' confidence, leadership, and life skills.
• Create welcoming and engaging interactions with families, educators, volunteers, and community partners. 

Recruitment & Event Support

• Girl Scouts at: Back-to-School Nights
• Community festivals and events
• School and neighborhood tabling opportunities
• Troop formation meetings
• "Try Girl Scouts" invitation events
• Leader information sessions
• Lead short, hands-on activities that introduce girls and families to Girl Scouts.
• Set up, manage, and break down event displays and materials. 

Girl & Volunteer Recruitment

• Recruit girls to join Girl Scouts and motivate adults to become troop leaders and volunteers.
• Guide families through the process of starting or joining a troop.
• Capture contact information and generate leads for follow-up.
• Assist families with online registration as needed. 

 Local Membership Growth

• Distribute promotional materials and support recruitment efforts at schools and community locations.
• Participate in school rallies, classroom presentations, and other outreach opportunities when available.
• Follow up with interested families to encourage registration and engagement. 

Event Administration

• Prepare event supplies and materials.
• Record attendance and recruitment leads.
• Collaborate with membership staff to support local membership goals and initiatives. 

 Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license meeting GSNETX driving and insurance requirements
• Must successfully complete a criminal background check
• Must become a registered member of the Girl Scout organization and support the Girl Scout Promise and Law
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Local travel throughout assigned communities is required-Mileage reimbursement provided.

Service Area: Events are held throughout Frisco, Celina, Prosper, Little Elm, Aubrey, The Colony, Lewisville, Carrollton, Highland Village, Flower Mound, Denton, Lake Cities, Corinth, Roanoke, Trophy Club, Justin, Argyle, Sanger, Krum, and Pilot Point. 

• Experience working with children, families, volunteers, or community organizations preferred
• Ability to professionally represent Girl Scouts in the community
• Comfortable using technology for event registration and communication
• Ability to communicate effectively through in-person meetings, email, phone, Zoom, and other digital platforms
• Demonstrated commitment to courtesy, respect, and professionalism

• Comfortable speaking with parents, caregivers, children, and community members
• Passionate about helping girls access leadership opportunities
• Self-motivated, dependable, and organized
• Comfortable managing event logistics and working independently
• Proficient with basic technology and digital communication tools
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred

Schedule & Hours

• Seasonal position through January 2027
• Up to 29 hours per week
• Most work occurs during evenings and weekends
• Events are typically three hours in length, including setup and breakdown

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, and move for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
