Seasonal Part-Time Makery Associate 

'Tis the season for Self-Care! Buff City Soap makes fresh, handmade soap and self-care essentials right here in our Makery, using clean, plant-based ingredients — no mystery chemicals. Between Black Friday and New Year's, our Makery gets busy (in the best way), and we need extra hands to help us keep the shelves stocked, the guests smiling, and the holiday magic flowing.

If you love people, don't mind smelling like a candy cane by the end of your shift, and want a job that's actually fun, we want to meet you.

What You'll Actually Be DoingTaking Care of Guests

• Greet everyone who walks in like they're the reason you showed up today (because they are).
• Help guests find the right gift, the right scent, or exactly what they didn't know they needed.
• Keep the vibe upbeat, even when the line's out the door.
• Speak up with product recommendations — we want you confident, not pushy.

Making the Products

• Get hands-on making bath bombs, shower steamers, scrubs, butters, and other Makery favorites.
• Label, wrap, and stock finished products and gift sets.
• Follow our quality and sanitation standards — every batch should be one you'd be proud to hand a guest.

Keeping Things Running

• Juggle production, guest interaction, and daily tasks without dropping the ball (multitasking is basically the holiday job description).
• Help keep the Makery and retail floor clean and organized.
• Restock as needed and pitch in wherever the team needs you.
• Work well with your teammates — we lean on each other during the holiday rush.

What We're Looking For

• Retail or customer service experience is a plus, but a great attitude matters more.
• You're friendly, outgoing, and genuinely like talking to people.
• You can keep your energy up in a fast-paced environment.
• You communicate well and work well with a team.
• You can multitask without losing track of what's next.
• You're dependable — if you're scheduled, you're there.
• You're available days, evenings, weekends, and holidays (this is a seasonal role, so flexibility here really matters).

The Physical Side This job keeps you on your feet and hands-on:

• Standing and walking for most of your shift.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs, sometimes repeatedly (think boxes of supplies).
• Being around a lot of different scents and fragrances.
• Good hand and finger dexterity for production work.
• Bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and balancing as needed.
• Pitching in on cleaning — dusting, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, general Makery upkeep.
