Summary:

The Golf Shop Assistant assists the Head Golf Professional and Director of Golf with all golf shop activities and operations. As a Golf Shop Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the golf operations in delivering exceptional golf experiences to our members and guests. Working closely with the golf management team, you will contribute to the overall success of the golf operation by assisting with various aspects of daily operations and customer service initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Customer Service: Greet and assist customers with a friendly and professional demeanor. Provide information on golf products, services, and course details.
• Sales and Inventory Management: Process transactions accurately, handle cash and credit card payments, and manage inventory levels. Assist with restocking and merchandising products.
• Reservations and Bookings: Assist with booking tee times, managing golf cart rentals, and scheduling lessons or events as needed.
• Shop Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized shop environment. Ensure merchandise displays are attractive and well-stocked.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with golfers and staff, addressing inquiries and resolving any issues that arise.
• Administrative Tasks: Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and report generation. Assist with daily opening and closing procedures.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

• Previous experience in a golf/retail-related role or relevant education in golf/retail management, required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Phone, computer and one-on-one skills are a must.
• Valid Driver's License

Minimum Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Language Skills:

The individual must have the ability to communicate effectively with employees and clients at all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.

Availability:

Regular business hours and overtime as needed.

Physical Job Description:

Activity Summary

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.

Ability to work in varying weather conditions.

Work Environment:

The attendant works in a well-lighted, clean environment. S/he constantly interacts with other people, and may have to handle several responsibilities at once. The Association maintains a smoke-free environment in its offices, buildings, and Clubhouse complex.
