Description
The Town of Wrightsville Beach is accepting applications for Seasonal Ocean Rescue Lifeguards for the 2026 season. The starting pay is $20.50 per hour, $21.00 with a NC EMT certification.
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to swim at least 500 meters in 10 minutes, or less.
• At least 18 years of age or older
Try out dates and times:
Sunday, April 19 @ 8:30am
Saturday, April 25 @ 8:30am
Tryout location: 703 S Lumina Ave, Wrightsville Beach, NC (Crystal Pier)
Requirements
The tryout will consist of the following:
- Approximately 800-meter ocean swim, immediately followed by a one-mile soft sand run.
- Two victim rescues. One will be an active victim the other a passive victim.
Selected applicants for the 2026 season will be provided a conditional offer of employment contingent on satisfying the following requirements:
· Drug Screen
· Physical
· SBI Fingerprinting (G.S. 160A-164.2(b))
Applicants will work approximately 46 hours per week with a start date of May 11, 2026.
